Thank you Juliette, nice report... those mistakes... do you remember on which songs they happened? And what kind of? Just curious... I personaly like those mistakes because the artists are not just mehanic jukebox... and some of them play the same shows on theirs tours, with no mistakes and with from A-Z the same set lists... fortunately Yusuf is not one of them All those who were on both concerts, Shepherds & BBC, maybe are not at this moment aware how lucky they were, not just because they saw Yusuf twice but because those concerts were... well, do not have the word... I was not there, but in some sense, through those kind reports, video and audio clips etc.... like I was pretty close

One mistake was definately on "Portobello Road". He sang the first verse and then made a mistake by singing a few wrong words so started the song again. He kept apologising but we were all laughing along with him and he said "well I haven't sang it in 40 years"
Another one was on "Blackness Of The Night". Same thing. Sang some wrong words and started again.
As I said I am sure the autocue was putting him off.
I agree with you and think the mistakes make the show and delighting the audience by singing all those great songs we were not bothered how many mistakes he made.
I do realise how lucky I was to have been to both of the performances. It's something I along with many others have waited years for and appreciated every moment.
It does make it easier seeming to have been there with all the videos and stuff now. In the old days if you couldn't manage to see a concert that was it. All you could read was a review so now it seeing the footage that is about from Shepherds Bush at least does make people feel part of the night which is great.
If I think of any more of the errors I will post again - if not I am sure someone else will remember.

I agree with you Regine.
King of Trees is another of my most favourite songs. I included it on my fantasy album choice of best 10 records on the competition on Yusufislam.com last week. It would be great to hear him sing that again.
That is so sad about the trees being destroyed near your home. Developers sometimes do not seem to care what they destroy to build new properties. The same is happening where I live too.

I agree Regine. King of Trees has always been one of my favorite songs. It would have been on my top ten list, if I had written one into the sponsors. I did write to them and asked for Yusuf to sing it at the L.A. concert though... Maybe next time.

oh no, another fantastic missed concert. and you Sheperd Bushers who are whining about not being at this one too.... uh, REALLY? you're making noise about that while the rest of us sit here... Count your blessings!!!!!!! sheesh. I guess Yusuf shows are like an addiction, the more you get, the more you want.

The fun of mistakes made the show seem to last longer. I was sitting behind Fazia and his mother in law .At one mistake when he stopped I said ahhh bless and his mother in law turned around grinned at me and did a thumbs up. It was all done without percussion the sound was beautiful , sereen .he made alot of those endearing giggly expresions he used to make in the old days .gosh I wished they had filmed it. It was the best . I do know how lucky I serously could have lost my job . I had to find a locum for 16 patients Their are probably hundreds of mistakes in post as it comes from my I phone . Still can't access from my computer Cheerio LOL michele

Into White sounded really good being sung by an older Yusuf/Cat. There was the background music the band played, along with him singing and it sounded just perfect. He said the song was something like he imagined his art work was like " .Sorry I can't remember his exact words but the gist of it was I assumed if he had a canvas and tried to paint something on it, it would be like the things described in "Into White". Maybe I'm wrong guessing this is what he meant.

I feel a little embarrassed posting more about this show, as it will reveal I am not a huge Cat Stevens / Yusuf fan. There, I got that out the way! However, I am a huge music fan, attending around 100 gigs a year. This particular one moved me nearly to tears I enjoyed it so much. Here is more detail of what happened on Wednesday, which will form the basis of the broadcast tonight. $ As Yusuf and his band were on stage for about 80 minutes, you should (hopefully) get all songs played. Instrumental (First Cut Is The Deepest) Johnnie Walker introduces Yusuf to the stage Oh Very Young (false start) Oh Very Young Where Do The Children Play (false start) Where Do The Children Play Thinkin' 'Bout You Miles From Nowhere Wild World (Zulu lyrics) Portobello Road Blackness Of The Night (false start) Blackness Of The Night Maybe You're Right Into White * The Wind * (Band Intros) Roadsinger Boots And Sand Father And Son All Kinds Of Roses Don't Be Shy ---encore--- To Be What You Must How Long/Peace Train Blues Welcome Home (false start) Welcome Home * Table Talk (Yusuf sitting at table, talking, then singing over acoustic guitar played by his band) Guitar, vocals: Yusuf Islam Keys: Pete Adams Bass: Neville Malcolm Eric Papole (?): Guitar Guitar: Alun Davies Corrections to setlist / spelling of musicians names welcome. $ of course, if you can't wait that long, here's a little taster.. rapidshare.com/files/241380043/peace_train.mp3

What misses I, actually are songs from the album AOC, why he does not sing any more, nevertheless, there some good songs also were on it.
