I'm pleased to see someone else enjoyed the 60's music from Cat, it was those old songs that first attracted my attention, I love my dog and even I'm gonna get me a gun

Her seat assignment at the show where he met her. Section C Seat 79 - does that make sense? I think it does, why? I guess Section C is a pretty big section with 79 seats in, lol 😆

[quote author=" crobarbie" source="/post/74780/thread" timestamp="1506744741" It seems that Yusuf's latest work became not so relevant as before, excluding his biggest fans... I would also like more to hear some new, more ambitious songs then looking for covers, which was predominant concept on last two albums. That does not mean that "The Laughing Apple" is not good album (I am giving 3 or max 3,5 stars of 5 or better 6 of 10) but I would like something new from Yusuf. Because only with new material you can stay relevant Ha, this kind of comment would be probably deleted from his facebbok fan page. Fortune to have this old place here. :-) [/quote] Good to see your post wasn't deleted 😃 although forgive me for only quoting a section of it above 😊 You make a very good point when you say you need new material to stay relevant and I too am not really into covers. I know some artists can do good covers but I prefer the singer / songwriter, there's a depth to singing their own material that I like.

I've just had a look at the Steve Hoffman site and it's good to see 😊 I haven't personally purchased Laughing Apple although I have listened to it, I haven't decided whether I may get it, although I do know that even if I own it, it probably wouldn't be my 1st choice when deciding what to listen to. Blackness of the Night for example is a brilliant song but it always was, I remember buying Cat's early singles for the 'b' sides when I was a teenager, I want to Live in a Wigwam was another great song from that era. Mona Bone Jakon just blew me away and when I saw Cat perform live in 1970, in a simple pub setting, it was perfection for me. I feel privileged to have seen him at such an early stage in his career, very few artists retain the simplicity of the early performance's. It is the nature of success. I'd love to hear more new material and maybe some old fans enjoy revisiting old songs or even attract new fans, I'm not against it but for me I want something to rival songs such as Miles From Nowhere, Tuesdays Dead, I could go on but I've too many favourites 😁

You're right I should stop reading the comments on the Pause page too, I get so annoyed when they act like Yusuf is a god, surely something he'd strongly disapprove of, he is very human and makes mistakes like all of us. I wonder if they really like his music?

In a way I think it is a shame he is revisiting old tracks. I actually enjoy the old tracks the way they were and they sounded right for that period of time. Also I enjoyed Another Cup, (apart from Greenfields). I'm not in the slightest religious but one of my favourite tracks off that album is the Beloved and I think Yusuf is quite capable of producing more new songs going forward.

Hi there rubylove25, guessing it's Meg It was always friendly on here, not like the catstevens.com which could get a bit heated, have to say I enjoyed it there though. It was the 1st site I ever discovered when I was a newbie to the internet. Just read through the reviews on here for Porchester Hall, what a great evening that was And it was a night Yusuf treated us fans very well

Barney, if I understand what you are saying correctly, there are different levels of membership and depending on what you pay is what you can access on the site. If this is so then it is even worse than I thought. I personally never looked at joining as I was so annoyed when I found my free membership had just ceased without even being made aware of it. I agree with you the Pearl Jam Forums and Majicat is the only way to have a good community. This way we can all join in and chat and if we post links they will be easier to find, unlike Facebook where you see a link one day and then can't find it in your newsfeed the next day. I was a member of the original Fantasy Ring back in the day, I use to look forward to receiving the magazines and letters from them and it was all so relaxed, it was lovely

I think it is a big mistake to charge for a 'fan' website. Very poor of the admin not to even tell us 'previously free users' of the RedRoom that we'd been locked out to, I'd thought initially it was my fault, incorrect password etc. Have to admit I was so annoyed I never paid to join and after hearing all the problems people have encountered I'm glad I didn't. I'm afraid I'm not so patient as some have been.

Christine you have done a brilliant job with majicat over the years I hope you still visit the site and don't become a stranger. I can fully understand you wanting to move on, I pop in to read the boards from time to time but rarely post these days. I'm so pleased the site is going to continue though in the good hands of Chris, Annie and George, I'd be devastated if we were to lose it completely. I've never quite recovered from Catstevens.com being taken from us. Both of you were my introduction to the world of computers and I've made many friends through them

Thanks to everyone who has posted photos, I was right at the back so didn't even attempt to take any, knew I could rely on Helen and Sue who were at the front Has anyone already seen or mentioned the article in 'Agenda' I picked up a copy in the hotel and didn't even realise there was an article on Yusuf until I got home. In it Yusuf says he already has enough material for a new album

I still have all my vinyl and in good condition I'm happy to say. The old stereo is still in the living room, though not used too often. Half the pleasure for me was always the album cover and the artwork ;D

The Presale tickets weren't all for the best seats, not in Birmingham anyway. I was very dissapointed to be offered seats right at the back and decided to take my chance when they went on general sale. I got much better seats, 10th row from the front

Lovely poster ;D ;D
I watched the Boyzone Tribute recently to Stephen Gately, who sadly passed away last October. Near the end there is a clip of Stephen as he walks away and looks back over his shoulder and the line being sung was "I know I have to go away."

I don't think there's any mystery here. Why is it hard to understand why someone would want to give it all up? It was obvious from the songs that he was searching for something. Also I've never understood the fans attitude, mystified, angry or bewildered. Feeling sad I can relate to but we had several very good albums and in my case had been lucky enough to attend several concerts. I just felt sad that it was the end of an era and hoped Cat/Yusuf would go on to enjoy a good life.

Wow I've just read all the posts. I'm sorry I didn't post earlier as I'd had my copy of the Readers Digest since November, if only I'd read it earlier it would have been easier to get copies here in the UK.
Well done Bob

I'm not sure if anyone has already posted but there was an article about Yusuf in the December issue of the Readers Digest ;D It was done in an interview style with Yusuf remembering, included a couple of nice pictures, which I'm sure most of us have seen before.
