Thank you so much for posting the link. The interview was great and "Indian Ocean" is fantastic. So wonderful to hear Yusuf sing with instruments again. I just hope this song is the first of many to come. I can't wait until I can download it. In the interview he said something about doing a charity concert with Paul McCartney in May. I think he said it would be in Germany. How exciting! He also said after his son got a guitar he (Yusuf) couldn't leave it alone! So glad!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Waterside

I've listened to it probably 5 times and each time the melody and lyrics become more enchanting. The child singing in the background near the end is haunting and soothing at the same time. This is indeed signs of great things from Yusuf in the future. He seemed to be eating it up during the interview. It is sure nice to hear him talking about music. I still can't register at catstevens.com(2 months) so I can't get in on the discussions. I wonder if the site was getting so crowded they had to shut down registration, cause it is running mighty slow today. Unbearably slow!

I've got a Mac, so have to wait, although lots of others with windows still seem to be having problems. I am so grateful to you for posting that link, Tillerman. Otherwise I would be left out!!
That would really be wonderful if he and his son did "Father and Son". I guess the more we get the more we want!! lol

What a great interview! Now, Indian Ocean is really something ... so haunting and catchy! I enjoyed it so much, it's kind of hard to put into words. The interview had some nice points to it where Yusuf said "I've come a long way" (indeed!!). Yusuf actually began writing Indian Ocean about 1 1/2 years ago after holidaying in the Maldives and finished it after the Tsunami. Simon Mayo said to Yusuf "your fans have waited a long time for that, haven't they." When asked if he still sings any old songs Yusuf replied "I do old stuff privately at home sometimes"... oh, to be a fly on that wall!! At the end there was mention of Rick Wakeman being paid royalties for playing piano on Morning Has Broken. Apparently he was signed up to a different label, so it was kept a secret. All in all it was really wonderful to hear both the interview and song. Yusuf ... thank you for sharing your gift! Jackie

I tried and found it after a little searching, but now it's at www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/fivelive_aod.shtml?fivelive/yusuf_islam(if you enjoy this song via the free link above I would suggest you please donate at least $1.50 to the charity it is intended for: smallkindness.org/ which I just noticed has a nice little melody on it now) A very nice interview and the song is simply amazing. After reading the lyrics I was puzzled how it would play out and after hearing it I was just dazzled. Gotta get itunes working...god bless yusuf. I like the part where one fan said he bought "the best of cat stevens" in response to the US unjustly deporting him ;-) peace 2 u, -anwar

I like the part where one fan said he bought "the best of cat stevens" in response to the US unjustly deporting him ;-) peace 2 u, -anwar I love that part as well. Also, in response to Yusuf unjust deportation, is why Small Kindness is my sole charity, with the exception of a couple local food banks and some environmental ones, I only give to Small Kindness. Peace,Vivian

Oh that's right. This song was intended to help raise money for the charity. If you enjoy this via the free link above please, please send money (at least $1.50 which is I think how much the download costs) to smallkindess.org/peace 2 u, -anwar

I was listening to it live when it went out - it brought a tear to my eye - so good to hear Yusuf again - his speaking voice is as majical as his singing voice.
