Great photos. I've never seen them before! Who are those other guys in the pictures? These photographs were taken by professional photographer, Arthur Usherson. There is a link to his web page, here on the Majicat Links page. I spoke with Mr. Usherson a time or two a few years back, at the time he had sent me the link to his website. The Photo of Cat and Alun with others, was taken while they were on a stroll in downtown Toronto. The photographs above were commissioned in 1971 when Mr. Usherson was asked to photo shoot Cat for the Canadian TV series 'The Hart & Lorne Terrific Hour'. The longer haired man is Lorne Michaels, he is more famous now for his long running late night series 'Saturday Night Live' The shorter gentleman is Hart Pomerantz. Thank you, Ale! This reminds me of "Wind East and West": I've traveled the wind east and west I know I'll never, never rest Till I've found that happiness In your good company
I've dreamt a thousand nights To be in your heavenly light One day I'll find my sight In your good company~Sun~

You're right, Sun. What a beautiful song. I hope Yusuf included it on the next album. Ale.

Great photo, thanks for sharing that! :-) Any idea when/where that was taken? (I'm guessing during a break on a video shoot...?) -Joanne

Butterfly, I absolutely ADORE the pic of young Cat with his dog and have to wonder if that is the dog about which he wrote "I Love My Dog".

Ladyluvssummer, well I don't know, if this is the dog, whom he dedicated the song. In my biographie book is a small article about the song "I love my dog"! Simply because Cat's parents had a restaurant, from hygienic reasons he unfortunately couldn't keep his dog named "Columbus". Cat had to sell Columbus with a heavy heart. Here are some more pics with his dog!!! Well, now he seems to have a cat!!!
