The new site is nice to look at, but there's not much information there really. I hope they add more as time goes on. I hope this is just the beginning. It is so slow, though, to navigate to the different sections. Does anyone else find this tedious? I don't have the patience to proceed oh so slowly once I get on a website! It is really wonderful that they linked it to Majicat, which is a very big compliment to Christine........... but it still is a shame to let all the cs.com content be left unused...I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. Love the video. You can really see Cat in some of Yusuf's facial expressions. "Heaven/Where True Love Goes" has really grown on me and I really love it now.

:(I also have a mac,and though it is a new one it also doesn't pull up much on the new website ,even though I registered. I am not at all impressed with the change. It is just a mini promo for his new release so far. The picture is boring. I hope it improves. So far it is a big fat zero. The little blurb of Yusuf's new release is also okay. To me,it is a watered down version of foreigner suite, with his usual religious overtones. The original has much more passion. That,I know is only my opinion and many fans will disagree with me. I know An Other Cup has been receiving good reviews. I am hoping that I will find the rest of it more appealing to me. In the meantime,Cat.com is definitely a thing of the past. I am making Majicat my new home. I have little use for the commercial propaganda machine that took over what used to be a fun, meaningful, active website.

I got lost yesterday and posted my comment about the new CS.com site on the wrong thread. But 1976 was kind enough to point me in the right direction. So I will post it here now, although I do have something to add which is: I think that by making Majicat their archive site, they may also want Majicat to be their board and chat site. When people check out Majicat, they will see there are boards and chat to discuss Cat/Yusuf and other interesting topics. At least that is how I see it right now. So on to my previous post: I have mixed feelings about the new CS.com. It is a beautiful site and well done. I'm very impressed with that part. But it's missing much of what the old site had, which shouldn't surprise me, I guess. I was thrilled that under archives, it has the Majicat link!!! But I wonder what happened to all of the CS.com archives. There was a lot there, too. And all the beautiful cover songs. I wonder if it will show up later. And there are no boards, maybe later, but I doubt it. But like you say, Viv, we have a wonderful community here, and I so appreciate what a great job Christine does for us. Under links there is Yusuf's MySpace with an area for his blogs and for our comments. If he actually answered comments, that would be cool. And the video of his new song is fantastic!!!! I wasn't going to listen to any of his new songs until I bought his new CD but I couldn't resist the video. So glad I watched. Lora CHRISTINE: Any chance you can delete that thread I started as I was having a "senior" moment and didn't see yours. Don't ask me how, I have no idea.

maybe this is the question for the person who was the owner of the old catstevens.com - i think the old website was bought by yusuf' management, right? so the question should be: what kind of deal have they made?

I believe John Gibbons said in one or more of his posts at CS.com before it was taken down that he sold "everything" to the new owners. So now they have the rights to it all. It also appeared that John hoped that they would use many of the archives on the new site. So many years of work went into the old site, it would be a tragedy to lose it all. Lora

Boy, I'm coming late to the party. Haven't had a chance to go online much in the past few days.
What do I think of Y's new site? It's *GORGEOUS*! It's the most beautiful design I've EVER seen in a website. And yes, I was thrilled to see the "Mes Amis" section. Cracked me up.
I've just now registered.... More thoughts later....
P.S. I love the "spaiceship" on the TV. As well as the overall baby-boomerish equipment in that room (old TV, old record player.. old vinyl discs... including his new one... LOL)

Cute! Didn't know about that site, will it open up more or is that it? The look of it reminds me of the Tillerman cover in a way, very cute!
This is exciting, isn't it? Can't wait for that cd!
