I don't know if this was exactly mis-heard, or simply someone being "funny." This happened years ago, and I'd forgotten all about this incident until last night when I was listening to Tuesday's Dead.
The beginning of the 2nd verse is "preacher, won't you paint my dream..." but some "comedian" sang it "creature, won't you paint my dream..."
At the time this struck me as hilariously funny, a sort of pun or joke on the famous preachers of the day getting caught in their various peccadilloes. My only fear now is that the warped lyric will get stuck in my head!

In "Sweet jamaica" untill I read the lyrics I always heard" round counry " instead of " brown country ".
