Every year there is an international award for kids who memorized the whole Quran,,during this award there is another award - about $250,000- for a Man of the Year……..I believe Yusuf Islam deserves this award,.. this is the site,, www.quran.gov.ae ,,,bthe problem it is in Arabic,, I remember seeing another one in English,, but could not find it…,… I was thinking if some of us send them a message,, asking them to consider Yusuf Islam during this year award…. Well I can't read Arabic, but Yusuf gets my vote! It would be SO NICE have a man of the year who changed the world for the better rather than for the worse!

Count me in too! Though, I think it is the "Man of the Century!" Throughout his entire life, he has wanted and worked for peace and put forth more effort than any one else I know. Thanks Yusuf!

Thanks Muhammad, I will see if I can figure it out. Maybe I can use one of those translating programs like Babel Fish. I would ask Hamdi but he just boils when I mention Cat/Yusuf. Besides, my keyboard isn't Arabic compatible. But maybe I can figure some of it out. Alot of the more modern words are the same in Arabic like 'E-mail' and I can read Arabic a little bit, like a kindergarten student. Yusuf deserves the honor more than anyone I know.

There is a place on the Arabic site to click on and get an English site and on that site you can find a mention of the award in English.
Brother Yusuf is indeed deserving of the Man of the Year award.
