Last night, a party was thrown for me celebrating my 50th birthday (I still walk upright). My birthday is actually on the 8th, but we celebrated it yesterday. I received 2 gifts that were very special. The first was two unused Cat Stevens concert tickets, one in a place called Bingley Hall in Stafford(I assume England) on December 12th, 1975. The other ticket was in New Haven, Connecticut on Feb. 28, 1976 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The cost of that ticket...$7.50. This was a floor ticket Oh yea, the other gift was an autographed album of Catch Bull at Four. turning 50 isn't so bad.

What nice thoughtful friends. I guess they really do know your love of Cat.
Brad your birthday falls on the same day as my nephew Sam, the only diference is, he is hitting his big 16. Happy Birthday and enjoy those gifts. :-)

Happy Birthday Katmandu/Brad! Wonderful gifts, though I can't imagine an unused ticket to a Cat concert. Ah, $7.50 for floor tickets! Even back then that wasn't a heckuva lot of money. I recall Joan Baez was adamant that her concert tickets only cost $3. Saw her at the Berkeley Greek Theatre for that price. When the price finally went up to $5 it was a big deal.

That must have been the Majikat tour just before he came to the USA. I remember that I bought Numbers in December of 75. Cristalina, what part of England is Stafford located?

Its in the Midlands, I don't think (not sure) that Bingley Hall is used for concerts now. www.staffscountyshowground.co.uk/bingley_hall.htmWhat I remember most is Cat complaining because either the heating system or the air conditioning was quite noisy and he wouldn't sing until it was sorted. I think eventually it had to be turned off and he apologised and said he wouldn't perform there again.
