Suncatcher, I agree with everything you've said. We were made to feel most welcome and you could tell that they liked to have visitors to the Mosque. When Regii was asked to cover her legs it was in a discreet way and none of us, including Regii, felt any embarassment, after all we were there to learn, and of course if we ever visit a Mosque again we will know from our own experience what is expected

Suncatcher, I recently visited Regents park Mosque with a school party ages 7-8.
We went into the prayer room and had a speaker speak to us. As we were a school party I was allowed to take photos inside the prayer room and there were some people in the prayer room at the time. We were made to feel very comfortable.

I would personally like to thank Suncatcher for her post.
When I first read this thread, before you had posted, it saddened me, and I didn't come back to it.
When my brother visited India last year - he attended a Muslim prayer service. Everyone was VERY nice to him - they knew he was a visitor. They told and showed him things he was interested in, and that he was unaware of, and all was done in a very kind manner. He was allowed to just sit in the back of the room and observe. He found it a VERY fulfilling, and peaceful experience, and plans to return on his next trip - with more knowledge than he had on his first visit.
Even in the Christian religions - there are so many differences between different groups, that it would be impossible to know the proper etiquette in each and every parish. Lutheran's certainly do not worship the same was Baptist's do. And that's fine !!!
We are all one people - one in the same. Respect each other, love one another, our likes and our differences.
Peace and an abundance of love to all................... Nancy

The purpose of all religions is to teach love, respect and understanding. It is only man who has distorted their true meanings to divide people.
Maybe we are coming down too hard on our friend Blythwolde. I truly feel her intentions were not to offend. She practices what she has been taught, and was informing us what dress is appropriate, if we should visit a mosque again.
Let us all now practice understanding and forgivness.........Peace Vicki

I recently came across a similar situation whilst on holiday in Malta. I had found out that you have to have your shoulders covered in church and gone prepared. However I didn't know that you shouldn't wear shorts Fortunately mine weren't short shorts and looked more like a skirt so it wasn't a problem but I wish I had known beforehand.

Having just got back from Jerusalem, in most of the religious places like Churches, etc you had to cover up shoulders and legs to just below the knee.
