I'm only just today learning of this incident. Where've I been? Oh, I guess I skimmed some article on YI's site yesterday about a Muslim woman being arrested ... but I never realized who it was about! How humiliating for Hasanah. This kind of thing unfortunately chips away a little bit at your innocence and trust in other humans. She'll be ever so slightly more guarded from now on, but I guess that's necessary. That's what life does to ya. Unfortunate, but that's reality. But obviously she can walk with her head high, knowing it's the *bank employees* and the *police*who should be ashamed of themselves. Especially the bank employees. And A'isha, what a strange coincidence that something very similar happened to you at the same age! (All it takes to humiliate me is running through a red light and having my picture taken by the automatic camera . That was about a month ago. Took me a day or two to get over THAT one.) (good news though... a citation never arrived in the mail. I guess they tossed it out). I'm the type of person who feels guilty when I haven't even done anything. I'll hand a cop my license and start feeling guilty for no reason. I'd probably convince myself I was guilty if I were ever wrongly arrested for something.

I think many people feel the same kinds of guilt. When I hear of people in third-world countries I always feel guilty, especially when I look around at my computer, house, car, other material things, and a full freezer.
Love, A'isha
