This is wonderful news indeed.
I'd love to hear that interview on the S. African radio station with Martin Besters.

Sue, I am glad you are here to inform us of Yusuf.org updates. When I check the site there aren't updates...You have a gift. LOLOL
I would love to hear the interview. Did I understand the second update as saying that an audio file of the interview has been requested? I wish I could see it, it has 'unseen footage' of Cat and the videos for "Peace Train" and "Angel Of War"....
Love, A'isha

You were correct in reading that Aisha, I hope it is as good as the KC interview. George and I were on aim this morning discussing the photograph, don't they look like a pair of used car or Berman coat factory salesmen? It's a Great Photo. Yusuf's beard keeps getting shorter every time I see a more recent picture of him.

Christine, Maybe Yusuf's beard will be as short as it was in the picture on your post! I absolutely love that picture! He looks so handsome and sweet! I'd love to see his beard that short again! He looks so clean and pleasant with a beard that is only 1 inch long. I'd have to keep away from him for sure! Too irresistable! Faithfullight

Hey, it is cool to get to look at two men who look like Yusuf huh. Doublemint twins. Okay, about the beard, I have my theories. Here they are: Theory A: Dubai is too darned hot to keep a long beard. Theory B: Yusuf figures that maybe the long beard is just too extreme looking. (Many Islamic extremists go with the long beard) Theory C: Yusuf remembers how pleasant he looked with the Cat beard and went back to it. Theory D: He got tired of cleaning food out of the longer beard. Theory E: All of the above. Theory F: A'isha is way off base and clueless. Regardless, That man still looks so handsome, doncha think? Love, A'isha

Theory D is funny! hehehe! But whichever may be the reason, I am happy to see him look happy and modern. Gosh, we're not living in the back ages!
I don't think they need sunglasses inside! LOL! I'd rather look at his eyes. They were always so gentle.

......doesn't the other guy have the same hair, same jacket as Yusuf -- another copycat!! haha! (just a joke) I hope we get to see the video too. LOL I say we sue him! You know, the other guy kinda looks like young Stevie Georgiou (haircolor, nose, etc)-- not bad. But Yusuf looks great in the leather jacket and new beard 'do! That's a great picture! Theory G: So we would have something to talk about at Majicat! LOL - Lissette

I signed up and logged in but I couldn't get it to play! I was able to read the transcript though. It wasn't very long.
Yusuf said that he gave everything away except for the things his mother kept, which is now inherited. His son, 15, is trying to recollect every gold record that was given away back into the family treasure.
I wish Yusuf would have thought about his future children before he gave away everything. I'm glad that his mother kept a few items to hand down to his children.

The audio worked the second time. It was exactly the same as the transcript. They played "Father and son" during the introduction, then in the middle of the interview they played part of the new version of "Peace Train".

Aw, I really hope for Mohammads sake and the rest of the children, that they are able to locate the old Gold and Platinum Albums. The LP's are items that really should be kept in the family. I'm relieved to hear that Ingrid kept a few items to hand down to the children as well.
It's sad how we do things, such as Yusuf musical auction, then years down the line wish we had handled the situation differently. I know my family has given away things, that I would give my right arm to have back.

Another thing I find quite fascinating, is the fact that Yusuf is creating most of his new music in S. Africa. I remember reading a few articles from the 1970's, where he mentions being in love with the African sound. The beat of it's music. It was part of the reason of why he produced Foreigner, even though it was produced in Jamaica, not S. Africa. It is delightful that Yusuf is finally able to incorporate the music he seemed quite intrigued by in the 1970's, into his music in the 2000's.

I hear that one of Cat's guitars was in the BOSTON HARD ROCK CAFE! I wonder if it is still there! If it is, maybe Mohammod or any member of his family, can make a deal and obtain it! I sure hope so! Treasures like that deserve to be in the family! If I were ever able to afford to buy these gems, I would and then give it back to the family as a gift! Peace,Vivian

I hope Muhammad can recover all those gold records. They really should stay in the family. In 50 years Yusuf's grandchildren would really love having that legacy to remember him by. You know, is there any way of getting the word out there that Muhammad is trying to get his hands on those gold records. Do you think that any of those collectors frequent these websites? I am waiting for my confirmation e-mail, so I haven't heard the interview yet. I wish they would hurry up. I keep watching for that little green light to flash on. Love, A'isha

That would be great, A'isha! And if only we can get word to Mohammod about the guitar that was at the Boston Hard Rock Cafe! I don't know if it is still there, but it might be a starting point to search for it!

I had heard at one time, that Ian Hunter of Jethro Tull had one of Cats guitars. Though that was many years ago, right after Yusuf sold all of his musical instruments. He probably no longer has it. But then I have to say, if it had to go to someone other than Cat, Ian is the perfect person to own it.
