This clip of Tom Fry's take on of Cat Stevens is brilliant, but not a patch on the real Cat. He tries to imitate the voice, image and singing style that once was, but no other guy could never be like the man born Stephen Demetre Georgiou, whose voice was a generation of our time. Songs that he wrote were all the great winners, like "Where Do The Children Play, Wild World, and Hard-Headed Woman, my Mum's favourite song from the Tea For The Tillerman album, had a message talking about fancy dancers, gliding them on the floor. However, let's all hope Tom Fry makes an excellent role of Cat, starring in this new film "Moonshadow in 2010

Just playing this clip gives me the goosebumps, but not like the real Cat did in the early 1970s. I think that when Tom Fry is telling Andrea Allen(who plays Katherine) a female fan that he wants to get off and wants to get off this ride, almost sounding more like Cat Stevens in his early pop heydays of his era. It's very interesting to knowhow an actor could take over from our real, true superstar. Would Yusuf approve of this??

Here are the excerpts from this exclusive clip of Tom Fry's takeover on Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam, which I hope our fellow members here at Majikat will find very interesting, but not too boring And here is the first part:
In Part One "Morning Has Broken" is played in the background, and Tom Fry is walking into the Mosque, reciting the Qur'an. Then, a fan of him comes up to him, asking this question: "So you haven't played for, what, about 20 years?"
(YUSUF) I know! I'm nervous!
(STREET FAN) Oh, well, you'll be fine!! You've played thousands of concerts
We hear a bit of "Peace Train"

Now we come to Part Two of this clip. In the fade-out of Peace Train, Tom Fry alias Cat Stevens is telling Katherine this. Here is the second part:
(CAT) I want to get off, you know? I wanna get off this ride, I wanna be free. And, until I know better, until I know how I can express myself in a new way, perhaps I'll just take a break for a while, you know?
(KATHERINE) Sounds to me like you're quitting
(CAT) Call it what you want, can't you understand? I don't wanna live this lifestyle any more, you know?
We hear "Father and Son in the background, while Katherine is asking him:
(KATHERINE) No! No, Cat, I don't understand!
(CAT) You know what? I may never understand. But my happiness is much bigger than music!
(KATHERINE) Well, what about your fans?
(CAT) Look! I've been living in hotel rooms, suitcases, unmarried, spiritually lost, what ought to make my fans happy? I want to make myself happy!
(KATHERINE) Fine! It's your life!

Well, I've more or less remembered this clip of Tom's Cat Stevens take-on, he's a really excellent at imitating the man once known as Cat Stevens, but not compared to Steven Demetre Giougiou's own Cat singing voice, every one of us here at Majikat loved him in the form of the poetic troubadour in the 70s, his music was something that thousands of fans could feel about their own lives.

Haven't been on this page recently, as I saw Yusuf's live concert at the Royal Albert Hall, up in the heart of London's West End Street. And what an amazing event it was, with all those marvellous songs we all loved. His sweet voice, so warm and uplifting really brought us into a world of dreams!
Now, here is Part 3 of the story, starring Tom Fry as Cat Stevens. This is a very short piece of this clip, which I find really interesting.
In this section, we hear "The Wind" in the background, played by Cat Stevens, when Tom Fry is walking out of his hotel room in a very abrupt way. Then, suddenly, that same fan on the street, who we saw at the beginning sees him walking out, wearing not his jeans and T-shirts, but wearing Islamic robes and a turban on the top of his head.
(STREET FAN) Hey! Excuse me!! Aren't you Cat Stevens? (YUSUF) I'm Yusuf! Yusuf Islam.
THE END

As I live and breathe until the end of the year, I play this excellent clip of The Cat Stevens Story, with Tom Fry's role as Cat Stevens. Watching this, really gives me goosebumps, when I hear his voice sounding like Cat himself. I think the image needs to be straightened a bit, and the long hair to be a little more curly, just like Cat had in his heydays, and the T-shirt should look like the short sleeved ones that he wore. Please write down more comments for the next year
