Another post again. I can't help it. ;D I guess I'm not the only one who keeps going back to see this rare footage of Cat. ;D The more you watch this video, the more you see. After seeing the young Cat move around on stage like we have never seen him before, I firmly believe now the apple (Yoriyos) has fallen very close to the tree. I saw Yoriyos on stage in London at the Shepherds Bush concert, and the way he moved on stage that night, reminds me so much of the young Cat. I still believe he must have been running a high fever that night, and not high on some concoction.

Good detective work there, Nancy. "The show is recorded and broadcast on French TV." Ah-ha! Would that be the same show as the early 70s French TV show, showing just Cat and Alun? Peace,Vivian Nope, that glorious concert (Cat & Alun, Cat is bearded, clips on Youtube) happened in november '70 if memory serves, this one is from november '67 and broadcasted in '68, as glaucus found out.

The Coat? Says image is from December, 1967 .... hmmmm Those ruffles ..... yup, we really did dress like that in the 60's - very mod !!! Shades of Carnaby Street and of the cover of "New Masters". This photo of the '67 Cat really is quite a find, Nancy... thank you! Carnaby Street: "You'll pay for the gear on display to appear on the scene/ It's no good being mean/ They'll have your every bean." -Bud

Great find. Love the footage. Cat's voice in this footage is a mix of Yusuf/Cat voice. I think I can see why cat didnt like being given a mic to sing rather than play his music himself, it not much going on is it? and still you have to pretend to enjoy singing the songs. Thanks for this Christine.
Peace.

OOPS, I wasn't clear enough. I know about the different times-one 67 and the other more familiar one, 70. What I meant, since they are both from mfrench TV, are both shows from the same series? Peace,Vivian

Great video from the archives, and I think that when Cat was in his teens, his music really lifted our spirits. But, during his absence from music, he began to think about his future, until 1970, which made him a more serious singer and writer of hit songs. On his second comeback to pop stardom, he grew a beard, and black long hair, and all the girls went potty at the sight of a changed young man. I went really MAD about him, until it ended suddenly when he embraced religion, which made me sad to think he'd given it up. Happily, his music has come back for the third time in three decades

Yes unbelieveball that difference with Cat in the seventies but he said in his songs that he could not go tru with it Alcohol ,drugs and that had saved him .But he still can go into the music if you look to Bad brakes in the RAI IF YOU NOW WHAT I MEAN LOL
