Yusuf wrote a blog on Teaser St News:
This tour has been great. Traveling to the land of Oz has brought me back to my lyrics from Roses, ‘All kinds of faces, show me their love… ‘.
It’s been a warm, lovely return to the other-side of our planet. The reception here was way beyond my dreamiest expectation. Frankly, I didn’t realize or appreciate quite how much my songs meant to my audience last time I toured. This time is different. If you’re lucky enough to keep wheelin’ round this Earth you may visit the same place twice and pick up on what you missed before. For me this time – it’s the people.
The spirit of fascination and child-like openness still shines bright amongst the people of this hemisphere – like stars and moon which ornament the night sky, without them the place would be in the dark. Sure, there’s always going to be plenty of black mysterious space in between, but these souls belong to a young and expanding country. There’s a natural positiveness and the mixture of colours and races in Australia, create a radiance of human nature and cultures that is really extraordinary – particularly being so far Eastwards; China just overlooks Australia’s shoulder.
I’m so happy to have met so many ‘loving faces’ during my return after 36 years. And perhaps some of my friends and fellow-listeners are also feeling the same as me. A few are telling me they understand my songs for the first time. As I recently said, “All kinds of lanterns light up the dark…”

When I go to the blog here at work, the blog entries are gray text on black background. At home, it is black text on a white background. When I went to Yusuf's entry, it was black text on black background (I had to highlight the text to read it.)
Anyone else see any other colors?

I knew I was not crazy (well, I am but that's another story for another day...), but I wonder why that is? Here at work we are still on Internet Explorer 6 and at home I have Internet Explorer 8; maybe that is the cause. I am going to try opening it in Firefox because that gray on black is not good for my young eyes

It's the web browser - I opened it here at work in Mozilla Firefox and got black text on white background. Vicki - I bet that's the issue for you as well. I am so glad I figured that out!

This is the line in "All kinds of roses" that always chokes me up because I felt he might be referring to his fans, or at least including them here. Awwww - that's so sweet. I wonder how it must feel to have all that love directed at you at once. 10,000 people sending love out to you simultaneously. Must be very good for his health

It just makes me feel so happy when I think about Yusuf and Alun being on this tour together. Alun could never have imagined this would happen a few years ago, I'm sure. It must be such a thrill for him. I am so happy they kept in touch all these years and when Yusuf started playing again it looks like the first person he called to come play with him was Alun.........so wonderful.....for both of them.

I snapped a picture at the Sydney concert on Monday of Alun. Waterside, what makes it so remarkable is that the tshirt he wore (Teaser and the Firecat) displayed just "Steve" from under his jacket...really so very special to see! If I could just work out how to show you, I would :/ Jackie

Jane, we missed you too, more than you know. Yes, Yusuf in Europe, that would be great. Just thinking about it gives me goose bumps. The 'family' together again, well part of the family, impossible for all the 1000 + so members of the Majicat family to be together at one time, but wouldn't that be really cool, Yusuf playing exclusive at a private venue for Majicatters. ;D Again, we must not be greedy, a big venue for all to enjoy is better!!!! ;D

I fill up the comment and submit and Presto - it falls into a big black hole. Any clues? I've been reading comments from other Majicatters so what's it about me ?

Don't worry, I don't think it's you! The comments seem to be taking a while to show up on the blog - possibly they're being moderated - but they do appear after a few hours. It had me panicking too Jo x

Maya, did you write your name and email adress above the comment space? I know the feeling, I remember writing a comment, on and on it went, pressed submit, but I forgot to write the above, and it fell through the black hole too. It is easy to overlook when you're so keen to make a comment, so now I make sure to print my name and email first, then comment, just in case. If this isn't the case, then why don't you write a pm to Majid explaining your problem, and he may be able to help.

The comments have appeared. It was a delay for moderation I guess. I know sometimes one can leave out those essential fields in a hurry But I hadn't after all

Sorry I wasn't clear. I had meant about me making some technical error I did not realize People have always been so kind and loving to me in the Yusuf-realm And I look forward to posting more comments. I really enjoy the open "downunder" feel of that website with each of the three writing in such an intimate way. I can see the star studded sky in those parts and smell the pure air.

I'm really going to miss the blogs after the tour is over...
Do you think we could persuade the Roadsters to carry on blogging? It wouldn't matter whether they talked about music, walking the dog or going to the supermarket - I'm sure it would be great to read anyway!
Peace and Happy Saturday to everyone!

Jo x Jo I think we should persuade them. As they are musicians there'll always be a song on their lips, a tune in their heads, even as they walk their dogs or do their shopping. The posts are so delightful to read, touching on so many aspects of their experience. XX
