Got my DVD yesterday. Amazing how comfortable Yusuf has become with performing once again. Is his voice also getting stronger and his range better? Anyone else feel that this is the case? George

Got my DVD yesterday. Amazing how comfortable Yusuf has become with performing once again. Is his voice also getting stronger and his range better? Anyone else feel that this is the case? George I have not yet seen it, but I think his voice has been getting progressively stronger since last year. He was on the US talk shows (Leno, Jimmy Fallon) early to mid-May 2009 and I swear his voice was stronger two weeks later at Shepherd's Bush. When I saw him at RAH it was like night and day from Shepherd's Bush. While I haven't seen the DVD, I recall thinking exactly what you are when I watched the various Youtube videos from Australia. I guess he is practicing more and enjoying it. Good for him - and us!

My copy arrived today and I just finished watching it. I agree with everybody who's said Yusuf's voice seems to have improved. Wow, some of the songs have never sounded so good! It was a real treat to watch.

I recieved mine yesterday too!!!! I guess many of us will be doing the same thing this weekend, watching Yusuf and his Roadsters Live in Australia. Well here it's freezing outside, so I think it will be a perfect night, hope we get our first snowfall, Yusuf and his Roadsters on the screen, me sitting in front of my fireplace, spellbound, very good company tonight, the best. ;D Just wondering, did a booklet come along with the DVD, like the other DVDs? I thought maybe they forgot to put one in mine. Always felt those booklets were an extra special treat. Asking for too much I guess for the price.

No booklet here. On a similar point, was everybody else's cover art a bit washed out? I couldn't see all the detail on the case that I'd seen on the cover art online, but then a digital copy is likely to look better than a printed one. The DVD art still looks great.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the songs on the DVD before releasing it in Europe and the US? Could they put "Peace Train" back on if they wanted to, for instance? Or is it all written in stone, so to speak.

Yes, I noticed the quality of the cover was not up to the same standard as Porchester Hall DVD. Inside the cover of the DVD, too much small detail, had a problem even with my glasses, (think it's time to get my eyes checked), so I used my magnifying glass. As there was no booklet, shouldn't they have printed the setlist, or programme of the concert somwhere? Well as they say, I guess it's what's inside that counts. ;D It's time for me now to sit back, and enjoy the concert.

Just a thought - I wonder if part of the reason Yusuf sounds so good is that he had a great soundman (or "Front of House Man") Sun, definetly, no question about it. I think he bought out the best in Yusufs voice. He is one of the best in his field. But even without Alan Branch on other appearances, it's like a day has not passed since his last performances as Cat Stevens, it is so obvious he has found his old voice again. Even my daughters, who like Yusufs music, but aren't the most supportive fans of Yusuf, think they have never heard a voice so distinct, and with so much clarity. They can't believe he still sounds just as good as he did, 40 years ago. Just between you and me, even though they don't like to admit to it, I think Yusuf is starting to really grow on them, and I couldn't be more happier. I knew sooner or later they would come round. ;D

Suncatcher, I was thinking the exact same thing. As I watched the DVD once again, it does not make sense that Peace Train was left out. Perhaps that is the reason for the later date of the world release. Let's keep our fingers crossed, and I hope that Rubylove also makes it on that one. George

Perhaps that is the reason for the later date of the world release. Let's keep our fingers crossed, and I hope that Rubylove also makes it on that one. George ROADSINGER (2009)________________ROADSINGER (AUSTRALIA/NZ, 2010)__ Yes, George, Yusuf did do something like that with "Roadsinger". The Australian version had "Boots & Sand" added. For the world release of the Live in Australia DVD, maybe Yusuf will create a booklet, improve the print quality of the DVD's cover art, and add "Peace Train", "Rubylove", "Where Do the Children Play", and "Ruins". Without these songs, to some fans it's as if the most precious photos have fallen out of their photo album of the Tour Down Under. It would depend on expected sales, I suppose, but I think sales will be better if the European and American markets know that their favorites are on the DVD. And people would be willing to pay more to get it all. There's hope if the numbers work out, and I'm an opitimist, but still, I won't get my hopes too high. Let's wait and see. Peace, ~Sun~

The result is evident, his voice is warm and strong. And it's not buried under the background music and vocals, so it's just perfect. Not to mention that your daughters are brilliant, Vicki - just like their mother!

IND probably means Independent, as they're not part of a larger record company.

Finally saw "Yusuf - Roadsinger - Live In Australia"... well, it is a good one, Yusuf is brilliant in most songs... some of them were even better performed in compare to RAH (London)... but, i still prefere Majicat DVD and Yusuf's Caffe because those concerts were filmed in one place, while Australia is compilation (even if I do not know exactly from which concerts are songs taken).
For example, Yusuf started Wild Word intro with one (new) guitar and then he went into song with different one, so that means that this song is filmed from two different concerts...
It is comparable with Leonard Cohen's concert DVD from London (the whole concert) and his second DVD from recent tour which is compilation of many venues. And I do not like the way they edit DVD, with encores as a separate portion of dvd.
But, I would rate this DVD with "-4" ;D

I wonder who did the editing - not everyone is happy with it, and for many different reasons - especially the missing songs. How interesting - one song with two different guitars. Thanks for the review, Barney. It's especially nice to know that Yusuf sounds brilliant. Everyone is unanimous on that.

I picked this up last week, very excitedly of course! It was great to see Yusuf again, and relive some of the great moments after seeing him here (Melbourne) in June. Like others I was disappointed to not have Peace Train and Ruins included, but there are some great performances. I liked the Rehearsals extra, it's good to see how the songs are put together. Could've been good to have a "fly on the wall" camera backstage, maybe Yusuf would have found this a bit intrusive.... but a great DVD just the same!
