Sure, dear, but not everyone has unlimited bank accounts. I haven't even seen a local concert for many years because I just can't afford it. I don't have a passport, either.

Hope that he comes to Canada soon. I know he has many fans here, especially in the province of Quebec. George One can always dream, how about: Halifax (Hi MikeW) Quebec City Montreal Toronto Calgary Vancouver If he can do multiple concerts in Germany, I'm sure he could do multiples here too! ;D He needs a good Canadian promoter!

He played Into White live in the Radio 2 session he did with Johnny Walker in 2009 and it was great! He let Alun play guitar and just sang the words. Nice stuff! Chris, thanks for reminding me, I had forgotten about that. Funny you should mention this as I was cleaning up the PC and grouping all those Cat Stevens/Yusuf audio files together. I just listen to it again and it's very nice indeed. Now if only I could figure out that short guitar riff that Alun plays at the beginning of the song....

Not only that, people have responsibilities (work, paying off bills, taking care of their home, taking care of an aging parent, health issues, etc). It is a minority who can afford/do this. Believe me, I've been dreaming of seeing Cat Stevens live for 35 years. If he comes by here, excellent. If he doesn't, just too bad, but I'll live.

Completely agree, Glaucus and Peacock. I'm in the same boat and although I'm on the right continent, I can't manage to get to any European concerts.
I guess as I did see Yusuf when he played in my home city in 2009, I really shouldn't complain, but like everyone else, I wish it could be different! Ah well, back to the lottery tickets...
We shall just have to enjoy the upcoming concerts vicariously, through all the great reports of our friends here!

What was the snippet of the song after it ?? I loved that and I dont believe I've ever heard it before xoxo Peace Christina I called it 'When a door is closing'-it might just be called 'Doors' and Yusuf sang it as part of the Moohnshadow preview part at RAH.

Don't forget the center of Canada, Glaucus. Perhaps Winnipeg would suffice for the people living around Manitoba. ;-) Very nice dream. I hope it comes true for you. As for travel... It's out of the question for me as well. I am very happy for those who have the opportunity to travel to see concerts. But not everyone has those resources. So, it is still nice fantasies to dream one day what if... ..... :-)

I just realized that Old School Yard Reggae was a practice session- makes sense cuz he was so low-key and probably would not say Ganga in a live show (would he??) But does anyone know if he actually sang it live at any time during the tour? I want to hear it live when he comes to NY - just putting the vibes out there to the universe

@ peacock Passports are easy to get ..here in the States we get the forms at Post Office and get passports in two weeks .... as far as Yusuf coming to all points of the Globe .. well God operates in the Now .. and only God knows....I know Yusuf is really moving and shaking !! Glory be to God!!! I do believe He was in Canada performing last year wasnt He ? hmm.... God Willing He gets there again .. One doesnt have to have an unlimited bank account dear one to get to seee Yusuf... a ticket to gthe concert is approx $125, and the airfare to get there lets say with a night stay around $750, or if one can takes the train 350 approx .. or if one goes w a friend and shares the room maybe even less ... so one can save up for that so to speak putting it on "The Bucket List" .... The day will come ... for now its so gratifying that He does have so many DVD's out and the you tube videos that are out fromthe various concerts especially the one at RAH are magnificent Joy!!! If you could get to Berlin I would give you a ticket to Yusuf's Concert on May 14th peacock or glaucus xoxxoxxo Guaranteed! (even if you go and come back I've heard my friends do that ) xoxx Love, Christina

I do believe He was in Canada performing last year wasnt He ? hmm.... God Willing He gets there again .. Hi, Christina Maybe you're referring to when Yusuf was in Toronto for the Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference? Richina started a thread on it: Yusuf to speak at Toronto's RIS Conference. And Sue posted a couple of nice pictures: The text of Yusuf's speech was given in the Red Room: December 28, 2009 Saving the Ship of Humanity. You may remember the speech. It was the one with the Ten Commandments, and ended with: In fact, it seems to me the Revival of the Islamic Spirit is the revival of the Abrahamic Spirit, where One God is worshipped and people of different points of view agree on the fundamental Laws for all Humanity, where religion is protected, rights of life, honour, property and health are given equally to all people.
So I suggest, if we simply try to agree to uphold the basic Ten Commandments, then we could be well on the way to saving humanity.
Peace, ~Sun~

Additionally, it is not just the cost of something but also what other expenses someone has. Let's not assume what someone else may or may not be able to save and/or afford. Perhaps we can get this thread back on track about the DVD rather his May/June tour.

actually a flight and hotel to germany from Cleveland Ohio or Nyc from Expedia.com is totaling 800.00 . I only mentioned it because the thread from glaucus and peacock was there already and there was no assuming at all if one does read the thread from here .. this does have something to do with Yusuf touring and the DVD and not being able to go to a concert as was stated on the last few pages .. and that is when i offered free concert tickets to Berlin because I have a few . so lets acknowledge where it was going ..which was a form of love .. Peace, C

I did notice the offer of free concert tickets, and I appreciate that very much. Don't know what your domestic situation is - but I'm a middle-aged mom with two teenage kids and a hubby. I also am mostly a homemaker; I do some paying work but mostly rely on his income. I can honestly say, and surely most will understand that if I said "hey, I'd like to fly to Berlin in May to go to a Yusuf Islam concert, do you mind?" the results would not be pretty. As I said in another thread, for that kind of money I could take the whole family for a week in Disneyworld! Nay, I'll have to content myself by listening to your descriptions, looking at your photos, watching concert DVDs and praying that he comes somewhere near me. I am traveling to Indianapolis this weekend for my daughter's cheer competition and trying not to get a panic attack over how much it's going to cost me just doing that . . . So . . . I really need to get my hands on that great DVD (back on track, LOL)

Hey Glaucus! I think Halifax would definitely be a long shot but I could handle Montreal....only a 12 hr road trip or a 2 hour plane ride! I am sure he would sell out any venue in Canada but I could see him being partial to a place such as Massey Hall in Toronto. Cheers, Mike

We're supposed to go to Florida in March but I don't want to! It's so far from SW Ohio. Well, we'll see how it goes. I don't think anyone on the squad is happy about the Florida trip. Sounds nice to get warmth and sun in March but lots of money and a lot of trouble just for a weekend. Kids can't miss school. Sorry about totally hijacking this thread!!! Call it Majicatter BONDING.

What do you mean by "conversion?" I bought the Australia DVD and just made a copy of it. The original plays in my laptop and the copy plays on my DVD player.

Thank you, Gabi. Yusuf had the audience in the palm of his hand. The backup is great. The piano part is magical. Loved it!

Fantastic, thanks Gabi! You know, that's the first time I've heard Yusuf sing it with the word "baby" instead of the Zulu word "bwana". love it! Oh, and that Pete on the keyboards is awesome!! At the El Rey, when he came out, I told him how fantastic he was....just wanted him to know! Hee-hee, looks like everybody lost their razors! Did you notice the new beard on Alun? how funny! I have to agree about Yusuf having the audience in his hand. It looked like he was having a most wonderful and relaxed time! I have to say, I think he is a much better performer today than when he was Cat. Back then he looked like he was just going through the motions most of the time. Now, he seems to truly be enjoying himself! Wonderful! As long as he's having fun, maybe he'll keep doing it!!! YAY! ;D

thank you so much for posting this gabi!!!! This was so beautiful and the female back up was a nice touch.... When He has his eyes open ... it truly is a state of perfection ... one sees so much vulnerability with gentle strength and pathos in the man ... perhaps his child in the man ... I so get this and feel it with him .... this was the best!!! ...... can we seee one more parakalo? ? xoox Christina Ps. Pete is amazing piano .. one of the best around... yet nothing can compare to my friend Jean Roussel!!!!! magical little hands!!!! xoxoxo I wish someone could post a fewmore of these .... does anyone have the software to do that ? Oh how I would love if rubylove is on there or Peace Train .... well anyone please !! x
