The fact that he chose to "analyze" the rally to this degree makes him crazy, in my opinion. His first paragraph makes that clear as day - again, in my opinion.

Neat picture! Does anyone know how tall Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Yusuf are?

Many thanks to everyone for the videos and the pictures. The Rally looks like it was wonderful, a lot of fun, and extra special, since Yusuf was there. What a thrill!

I was thinking the same thing, Suncatcher, after I saw the picture. I just knew Yusuf could not be 3'5" ;D So I looked up Kareem's height and read that he is 7'2"!!

Jane, I guess one must feel good after uttering nonsense. The unfortunate thing is that individuals like him often get the spotlight for saying things that are part of the madness that often exists. Wish he would have taken the time to learn how to spell Yusuf's name before rambling on about his own insanity.

Wish he would have taken the time to learn how to spell Yusuf's name before rambling on about his own insanity. I've found when somebody refers to "Yusef", it's usually best to turn away now before they start going crazy. The same also seems to apply if people write "Muslem" or "Moslem" instead of Muslim. Is the letter 'e' supposed to be scarier or something? I'm pretty sure it's done on purpose for some reason.

I remember when he was on TV a lot last year - Jay Leno, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Isaak - all of them pronounced his name "Yu-sef." Given that, it makes sense that people would spell it with an "e" rather than a "u," especially considering they are not fans and are not out there reading about him like we are.

It's funny to see how a man of perfectly normal height can be dwarfed by Kareem.

Does anyone know how to view the video of the rally from start to finish? I can't seem to find the whole thing. I caught it live just as Yusuf was walking out with Ozzy but that was it. I too am sad to hear that many people (none fans) are speaking badly about him. They don't have the facts straight. Very disturbing. Hope this does not prevent a US tour. Thanks to all, Patsy

Unfortunately, this is nothing new - just more of the same. Frankly, I'm bored with it. I don't think this will have any impact at all on whether or not Yusuf tours the US. This has been going on for years and yet he still chose to record much of "Roadsinger" here. Now, let's get back to what's really important - scolding Richina for all her talk of smooching, shall we?

"Here, here", Jane, and in that vein, may I state that at 6'-1" tall, I am in a perfect position to simply, but proudly, shake Yusuf's hand (should such a cherished opportunity ever present itself, that is!). ;D -Bud

Speaking of annoying faux pas with pronunciation and spelling, I hereby apologize to the esteemed Mr. Ozzy O. for referring to him as "Ozzie". Typically, fellow Majicatters were kind and polite enough not to make note of my error, so I'm calling myself out! And to Ozzy: Sorry 'bout that, ol' Mate! ;D -Bud

The best part was how quick he scrambled back over to the microphone the 3rd time. If he'd just have strolled over it wouldn't have been as funny. Made it seem more like an actual "battle." LOL I also got a kick out of having him referred to as "Joseph" and "Joe" by Stewart and Colbert, respectively. "Or as it's also pronounced, Yusuf." Makes me wonder if there's a point behind that. Building on the fact he's mostly now going by just plain "Yusuf" without the Islam part. A reaction to the political climate? I'd speculated before that one of these days he might change his stage name to "Joe Peace." I was joking, but you never can tell. In the past few days there have been so many times I wanted to add my own comment to various discussions and enlighten these folks about the facts, but I didn't because really, it's pointless. People believe what they want to believe, don't they? And btw I have read his explanation for why he downplays the Islam name nowadays--I believe what he said was that it made him uncomfortable when he saw his interview quotes: "blahblahblah," said Islam. Or, "Islam was at the rally." As though he was representing the entire religion. Wise move, Joe.

Now, let's get back to what's really important - scolding Richina for all her talk of smooching, shall we? AHEM.....I'll have you know...Miss Jane...I'll smooch whatever, wherever, however, whenever, and whoever I please! ;D (you know you want some of that action too! ) And anyway, I'm not talkin' about some big ole wet, sloppy, mooshy, throw ya down, fla-fla kiss....you know, just a nice, sweet smoochie. Simply out of ....uh, respect! .... ;D

Well, personally the real Cat Stevens, the man whose long hair, dark eyes and trim beard was the image that every female fan longed to smooch and touch. I often dream of being with him, talking to him, listening to him and singing with him. His voice in the days of the 1970s was the voice of a true generation. But when he withdrew from his former self, it shocked everyone. i think that not many people liked the way he turned his back on music, to embrace religion, but after so many years of resistance, his legacy made him come back to his old musical style, and playing his black guitar once more. He still sounds great.

Look at who is doing all of the trashing... Hannity, O'Reilly and the likes... The same people who trashed him in 2004. And to Hannity defense, he hasn't read Yusufs explanation, so his views are sooo one sided anyway, as is the rest of Fox News. How can you be diplomatic, if you don't read up on the matter at hand? If the rest of America believed their bias views, then Yusuf would definately be much better off wiping his hands of America all together. But lucky for us, not everyone shares Hannity's views. And I hope Yusuf realizes this. But it does break my heart to think of the hurt Yusuf must be feeling. He tries to give us his all, and he gets bashed. Keep smiling Yusuf and singing of Peace.

I know - it hurts my heart too when he gets bashed. But at some point - you just have to consider the source. Are these the type of people whose opinion matters? Well not to me, anyway. Sorry if that sounds arrogant...
