Now, let's get back to what's really important - scolding Richina for all her talk of smooching, shall we? AHEM.....I'll have you know...Miss Jane...I'll smooch whatever, wherever, however, whenever, and whoever I please! ;D (you know you want some of that action too! ) And anyway, I'm not talkin' about some big ole wet, sloppy, mooshy, throw ya down, fla-fla kiss....you know, just a nice, sweet smoochie. Simply out of ....uh, respect! .... ;D I will leave the smooching to you, my friend. I will need to concentrate on keeping you off the stage, or ducking from your flailing arms as you dance. Yikes!

I'm really not a big friend of esoteric stuff. But I loved to read this today www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/2010/11/03/enlightenment-aura-reading-of-yusuf-islam-also-cat-stevens/Isn't it a perfect description of our idol and his ability of spreading joy and enlightenment?! Oh, how I love to recall this special feelings I enjoyed when being close to him (that means in the room). It happened first as he was entering the congress hall in Bochum on 30th June 2007. My body was shaking - bzzzh - like touching an electrical fence then I saw him coming in and walking to his seat. I guess that was the first connection of our souls. Can't remember, if it happened also back in 1976, when I saw him first at the Majikat-concert in Cologne. But it probably did... I was lucky enough it has been repeated two times until now - SBE and RAH in 2009. And I am longing for the next bzzzh experience

Too bad the young guy's photo in the "aura" article isn't Cat.

I enjoyed reading this, Gabi. Thank you for posting it. I don't put much weight in any of it, but I do agree that Yusuf has a beautiful aura. Yes, Peacock, it's not Cat Stevens, so if Rose is using the face in that photo to "read" Cat Stevens' aura, well, "Houston, we've got a problem." Still was fun to read. Peace, ~Sun~

No, not the baby picture, though that would've been cute! What a cute baby he was! LOL! I meant the teenage Cat. The fresh, clean-shaven "I Love My Dog" Cat. .....or should I say, back when he was a kitten? ;D

Look at who is doing all of the trashing... Hannity, O'Reilly and the likes... The same people who trashed him in 2004. And to Hannity defense, he hasn't read Yusufs explanation, so his views are sooo one sided anyway, as is the rest of Fox News. How can you be diplomatic, if you don't read up on the matter at hand? If the rest of America believed their bias views, then Yusuf would definately be much better off wiping his hands of America all together. But lucky for us, not everyone shares Hannity's views. And I hope Yusuf realizes this. But it does break my heart to think of the hurt Yusuf must be feeling. He tries to give us his all, and he gets bashed. Keep smiling Yusuf and singing of Peace. Chris, people such as Hannity and his ilk, having never taken the time, nor made any genuine effort, to learn who Yusuf is and how he lives his life, are spouting pure flapdoodle. There is a paragraph in Eric Clapton's autobiography in which he speaks of musicians, and it's one that I believe describes and favors Yusuf beautifully: "There seems to be a silent acknowledgement among most players that we have a certain responsibility as teachers or healers, and although we all have different ways of honoring this commitment, it is certainly something that we are all aware of." Along with possessing many additional remarkable attributes, Yusuf is most certainly both a teacher and a healer. -Bud

I tried but I simply cannot get through Rosetree's "reading." I guess I just don't understand how someone's aura gets transferred to a picture of them on a website.

it does seem to apply to him almost eerily. Maybe it would apply to all celebrities at one time or another in their careers?
Maybe she is just picking up on the vibes she gets when she looks at the photo?
Anyway it was fun to read. Thanks Peacock.

Well at least now we have some proffesionals analyzing Yusufs overzealous reaction to that Rusdie affair. Yusuf is going to become basis for a case study. I hope this in turn will help him and not hurt him. Frankly it should be the other party who should be analyzed. >:(Now really, I can't for the life of me understand why this minority of people like to churn up old news just to make a headline, but what's new? Anyway, I seriously believe that this new generation doesn't even have a clue what the Rushdie affair was all about, and I don't think they could give a hoot. It's like some conspiracy, or propaganda game with some ulteria motive. I'm sure all these so called "faultless" people, have said and done things in their life they have regretted. Would they like having salt constantly rubbed into their wounds. Would they not prefer to have a forgiving hand to heal their wounds, so they can move on, or would they prefer to go through life with a heavy price on their heads, never being allowed to make mends, no matter how hard you try repeatedly. Yusuf has nothing fear or to prove, he has passed the test of life with flying colurs, he has done more good in his life time, than these accusing, hypocritical people could do in ten life times. It's so sad that religion divides people when the foundation of all religions is love, peace, and forgivness. It's like politics dividing people again. I hope the day will come when we can all rise above our differences, accept and forgive. Sorry gone on a bit, might be a bit biased on the matter, but it's only through my love and respect for an extrordinary man we all know as Yusuf. I have a strange feeling after Yusufs appearance at the rally, in front of such a massive audience, it has rekindled that spark of hope in people to board on that long lost peace train.

I know, it's insane all the amount of false information being regurgitated. Why are they so willing to believe Yusuf's alleged words 20 years ago, which were denied the same day he supposedly said them, and not the words he's been repeating for the last two decades?
There was a bit in Private Eye magazine in the UK that really made me angry. They mentioned the Rushdie saga, then tried to paint Yusuf as some sort of tribal woodsman because of something he said about mothers being at home to look after children. Those comments were painted as "radical Islamic cleric doesn't want women to work". This is all the more ironic when Private Eye's editor is pretty traditional himself and would probably agree with what Yusuf actually did say.
This is the same magazine that Yusuf successfully sued, I believe, for suggesting he supported the Taliban. The editor of the magazine is unsurprisingly the most sued man in British legal history ...

That was absolutely the BEST article on the topic yet, and I think I've seen them all. Well, I've seen a lot anyway!
Thank you for posting that. I am in complete agreement with everything it says; it totally echoes what has been on my mind.

Just recieved this weeks TIME magazine. Opened the first page, U2s Bono, and wife Ali in a double spread Louis Vuitton advert, very nice. Continued turning till I came to page 8. There he was, no not Yusuf, but Salman Rusdie lstaring at me, straight in the eye,s and smiling. ;D 10 question directed at SR, and answers. I know many are fed up with this whole SR affair, but there is a link to the interview if you are interested. I could not resist. Relieved that Yusufs name was not mentioned in the interview. ; Even though many people do not agree with his views, I hate to say it, but he seems quite a nice chap Link: time.com/10questions
