:)Hi As it happens I love science too! I teach Science maths and English thro 11 to 16 year olds at the moment...I find no contradiction in my personal beliefs and Science....in fact strangely I have become to love science more...after all it is all about the world..how its made ,how it works ,lovely stuff...particularily Biology..........no, no contradictions there either!!! Now I remember one case when my wife, who was profesor of biology tolled me that she had misunderstanding with school catechist because she was teaching about evolution of life and he was teaching children how the life on earth was created by God in seven days. So,same children, sameshool and two opposite interpretation of the same thing. And of course children were confused about that, asking from both of them what was the real fact. :)Hi I too as a child was taught one thing at sunday school and church and another at school...but no one ever said that the other was a wrong view(I was lucky to be taught by enlightened people)...so I reckoned that as they both were ONLY a possibility that both views were correct......so it is possible to belive both and I can see how that is possible....cos 7 days are Gods days.. who's to say how long each day actually was?Our understanding is so shallow .....God created the big bang......and subsequent world, who can prove otherwise? evolution ......who said that suddenly there was a giraffe...it could be talking in terms of millenia...all of these things have to be looked at with an enlightened eye...and every culture has its own explanation of why we exist...and how we came to be....I love some of the stories and myths and legends....so creative.... Sometimes I wonder in awe of say, holding a small seed and looking up at the parent plant, seeing the amazing deep sea creatures or a moss under the microscope and I think to myself that it is not possible that all these miraculous things are just an accident of chemicals ....why is it not possible to believe that DNA , for example, is Gods work? There exists no proof that it is not...... So in this way I question but have no problem with proof...I cant prove that you exist at the moment either but I do like you...do you have to have proof to believe that.....

Just because there is no proof that god does not exist is not reason enough for me to believe that he does. I never say "there is no god" because I don't know. None of us can know - we can either believe or not believe, but that is very different than knowing / not knowing. I simply say "I don't believe there is a god" and leave it at that.
One of my favorite quotes is from Buddha:
“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”
The idea of god simply does not agree with my own reason or my own common sense.

"What is God Everything. -Hesiod I see him daily and out of my eyes.. and I've been very blessed to have had a vision some 23 years ago ... States of Perfections are glimpses that the soul is immortal and thus Life is Eternal ... Life is so miraculous that God could have only created it .. @jane We've had a conversation like this at Helens house last year and I respect your feelings on believing there is no God and also to not helping others before yourself and what do you get by helping others.. I remember you saying .. well that is the feeling of the Spirit of God and that is when you know He exists .. and rewards will be great here on earth and in the next Realm .

If you remember me saying something about not helping others before myself or anything like "what do you get by helping others" you remember quite incorrectly. I have not and would not ever say anything like that.
I respect that you believe things are attributed to God, but I do not share that belief.

There is proof God exists all around one only has to open their heart drop their ego down to the size of a pea which is housed in front of the heart and open the door to the heart their is God... first and foremost.. and look at the servants of God.. to know ...
where they continuously give thanks to the Lord and where He gives more light source and divine intuition to one to fuel up for the next day God Willing
Search Search ... He is right next to us and in us all xoxo

Sadly, this thread has gone from a respectful discussion to something else. Time for me to jump off this one.

Sadly, this thread has gone from a respectful discussion to something else. Time for me to jump off this one. Duh, and what part of this did you not see comin' my friend? That's why my Mama told me to never discuss "politics" or "religion" or "quantum physics" or "toe jam" or "bodily functions" or "the civil war"; in a mixed group! 'Cause there ain't no way everybody's gonna agree or understand! Just sayin'.

I have been reading this thread and have come to the conclusion to lock it. This has become too religious in nature. And as it states in Majicats TOU When threads start taking a religious manner and makes some members feel ill at ease, because of different views, or members who wish not to discuss religion, or just because this is not the forum to discuss such issues. I know the thread has been mostly friendly in nature, but it is still time to close the thread.
Majicat's T.O.U. rules
Respect of Religion, Nationality, Gender and Race: I should also add respect for Agnostic as well. Animosity shown to others on the grounds of race/nationality/gender/religion will not be tolerated
Religion: Due to the wide variety of people and religions, I have decided to be fair to everyone, discussions pertaining to religion should be kept within your own pm and/or email, so no one is offended. (within a few exceptions) Edited: I placed the above TOU up during a turbulent time at Majicat and I didn't want any friction resulting because of such threads. Recently, I have become more lenient on religious talk as long as it is presented in a mature and friendly way. That is not to say Majicat is to become a religious forum or that ALL religious threads will be accepted. If they start to sway, they will be locked. (I kept the above tou version up, so people can see what it will result back to, if this tou is abused)
