Hey gang! Sorry I'm not here 24/7 but that simply means I'm busy, not that I don't love you Many of you know I'm a children's author So I thought I'd post here that tomorrow I visit my first ever Islamic school on Long Island in New York State My plan is to use Cat as a lead in to the assembly I show the animated Moonshadow video in visits to many schools I go to Upon arrival I will ask the principal if it is ok to show the video as I know some factions of Islam frown upon music If they say no, I will politely remind them that Cat has embraced music once again but will honor their wishes If they say yes then we're off to a gr8 start! I use this video because kids love the old animation, the song is classic and I talk a lot how song is poetry (open a dictionary and look under 'song') So I'll let you know how it goes Peace Bob

Hi Bob - good to hear from you again! I look forward to hearing about the school visit, especially if they allow you to show the video.

Good luck with the visit , Bob. I know from experience how kids love poetry and how an author's visit can bring it to live for them. Nice to hear from you! Peace Doris

Right? I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the beauty in the opening of the Lion King. Kids love it. Adults love it. It almost brings me to tears each time I play it!

I often use this in my RE lessons-not matter what age the students are, it usually kicks off some good reflections.

I know what you mean Bob - when I saw the play I was surprised to find myself crying from the beauty of the music. It touches your soul I think...
