:)Hi Just had the privilege of watching the interview.I was surprised by its length and range of questions... I thought that Yusuf did a great job!!!Truly I know he's a bit flaky sometimes in interviews but this was fab...I was sooo impressed and yes, strangely proud....! The thing that was so important to me tho,was the Cat Peace train vid...it was as tho at last the two personas were reunited!!!and accepted .....I love that he balanced his faith stuff so well in his answers.....what a coup Yusuf! and the label for him was Musician and Activist ...AT LAST!!!!!Yes it suits him so well....I had hoped for this day for ages...Yusuf using all his talents...Wow I am so very impressed!!He did it!!!My people song sounded just as I expected....it will be Yusuf at his best!!!!!!love him even more

Did he choose to be labeled an activist or was it chosen for him? Most of the time those descriptions in the on-air graphics are chosen by a production assistant.

Either way JaneB he came across as one...using the language of one who has chosen to be active in expressing ones beliefs....in a political arena...this thing is huge!!But Yusuf managed it well, very well... I'm impressed and pleased........no airy fairyness just straight forward honesty and rigour in beliefs....and a special song ......for all people....stunning!!!

I watched the interview earlier. I was very impressed. I was a little concerned when the show was going to be about politics and the situation in the Middle East/Africa, but Yusuf's answers were very fair and reasoned. It's hard to believe some people can be so 'against' him when you watch that.

I was especially pleased to hear him urge everyone -- Muslim and "Western"-- to ignore the soundbite politicians who build careers on pointing fingers and igniting anger. He chose a wonderful quote (from the Qur'an or a hadith?) which said, in essence "If you want to change the world, begin with yourself."
It was so endearing that he "accidentally" showed us that he had a set of written notes for the interview. ;D
I wanted to kiss my laptop screen when he said "I've always been a flower child."
When he mentioned Charlie Chaplin as an example of an artist-activist, I realized that the Banapple Gas film is extremely Chaplinesque. Perhaps the Cat was a Chaplin fan.
The clip of the new song was a tad disappointing -- very brief and the sound quality was poor.

I just got a chance to see the part in the beginning that I missed from last night ... His Joy when He is mixing is Elevator Penthouse Suite!! Top Top Joy Form and this makes me very happy .. I do love the colors He is wearing deep aqua I've always thought was part of his electromagnetic field aura with the brown black and soothing hued white .. Happens to be my favorite colors and I wore those to RAH Concert last year with my favorite off the shoulder sweater..
The song snippet sounds amazing and will be producing a blessed effect .. xo
and the interview was without going into each part .. It was SteveCatYusuf all rolled in One .. His Essence ... awesome answers with soothing inner musicality to his voice and choice of words..
I have a 5 day candle lit for Peace in that part of the World..
