With the new year comes a 'New Majicat'

I've been away for the weekend, and came back to find this on Majicat's home page. I can't find a thread on it - is there one somewhere that I missed?

With the new year comes a 'New Majicat'

The journey of a thousand leagues begins with a single step, and so starts a new journey for Majicat.

I am very proud to say that I have been the owner/creator of Majicat since April, 1999. But, now after 12 almost 13 wonderful years, I feel it is now time to move on. I am no longer able to give Majicat the love, time or creativity that I once had. I once considered it like my baby, my creation, but like all things, there is a time to move on. Majicat is moving in a new direction with a new owner/creator. He will be bringing it back to life and taking it to a fresh new beginning. I feel I have let it down in the past few years, by neglecting it and letting the message board take over and it is my time to step down. As with many websites, when a messageboard is introduced, it seems to take on a life of it's own and the original website ends up being over shadowed and depreciated. And, this is true with Majicat.

So, to bring Majicat back to life and by giving it a fresh air of excitement, it is essential that she aquires a new owner/creator. Please join me in giving Chris Abrams a big welcoming hand. He is essential to the future of Majicat - Cat Stevens Scrapbook. Majicat will live on through Chris's eyes and reach new heights with fans both old and new.

I truly believe this is what Majicat needs and deserves. Chris Abrams will make Majicat (MAJICAL) again.

I can't begin to express the gratitude and appreciation I feel towards you for this beautiful and magical website named Majicat. I'm sad to know that you're leaving ; you will be greatly missed. I understand all too well the feeling of no longer having the love, time, and creativity to give to something, so I don't blame you in the least for leaving. I know that you'll move on to better and brighter endeavors, but I hope that you'll somehow stay in touch. Thank you for handing majicat over to Chris Abrams, and not just shutting it down. Thanks for your good wishes. I'm not a stranger! As Novim I've been around for a long time helping Christine run the site in the background. Although now i run the website I'm teaming up with my long term friend George Brown and my wife, Annie to run the site. It was either that or Majicat would have disappeared forever. We couldn't let that happen but the emphasis will be a bit different. We'll be redesigning the site but, it's a fan site and we'll need your help to keep it vibrant.

Christine is a very dear friend and I am doing this in homage to her and we'll be remaining in contact for as long as I can type or hold a phone! We all hope that we can count on your support in finding new items for the site.

when i went to the Peace Concert in London recently to be apart of it all ... some of the young men from the Yusufs Boys College asked me if you were going to be there!! They love you and what you've created this far with Majicat.
I'm very sad to hear that you are passing on the torch so to speak and I know if you are considering it, that you are putting your baby in good hands , with Chris and George . I do hope you will continue to be on board in this new collaboration .. Thank you for you dedication and hard work Christine. I know how hard you work on Majicat for years. The thing I admire the most is that you were able to maintain the message board civil over the years, Lord knows I would have pull the plug on it on more than one occasion if it had been me. I guess patience is one of your biggest strength!

Thank you for your generosity and your friendship, we've known each other for what, 14 years??!! And Cat Stevens brought us together. I wish you all the best in your next endeavours, continue with the remarkable nature photography, I guess you'll have more time to devote to it now hopefully.

Dear Christine,

The phrase "Mere words cannot begin to express..." have never held more meaning for me than they do at this very moment, as I bid you a heartfelt (and limitless) "Thank you" for having presented Yusuf, all devotees of Yusuf, and the world, at large, the singularly glorious website known as "Majicat" for all these many years.

What you accomplished in doing this, of course, was not only the birthing of a website, as beloved as it is, but, quite literally, you created and helmed a genuine 'community': We, the denizens of Majicat, form that community... We, proud "Majicatters" to the last, are forever in your debt.

If an effective and proud 'parent' must, however, find it necessary to pass along her 'child' via 'adoption', well, then, a finer choice could not have possibly been made than entrusting the future of Majicat to Chris, Annie, and George! Now, _that's_ what I would call an excellent 'troika'.

Majicat shall continue to be well-fed and cared-for, indeed!

Icame here 6 years ago ,my first days on the internet i typed Cat Stevens and wow all that information and MAJICAT the majic site ,here i learned alot things i never knew about Cat and the come back of Yusuf because he saw here how hard we wonted he did come back .Majicat a smoot and gentle place to be were Christine took care of us (she learned me to post pics with lots of patience she did lol,This was the place i felt welcome and i'm sad you leave Christine really but like always you did not do things without sense and you looked for three lovely fine people to replace your self .Chris and Annie i already met in Helens place after a concert of Yusuf and George just perfect .
Thanks for all the good years Christine because of you i have many Cat-Yusuf friends
