Its just too hard to pick . I think every verse from everyone of his songs are golden! lol I could never pick out one song of his as my favorite, either. Everything he sings is angelic. ;D

That's the same reason why I have not placed a favourite verse on this thread.
Every song has a special place and special meaning in my heart.
Impossible to make a choice.

Thankyou, as soon as I saw Pop Star, it was singing in my head instantly. First time I have seen it written in words. My MBJ LP record cover, never came with written lyrics, and it was hard to recognize. I was beating my brain today trying to remember.

I was playing Teaser and so now Rubylove Greek lyrics are stuck in my head going round and round.
Does anyone know if there's a video of him performing this song live?

Well here are a few of my faves: The Foreigner Suite - There are no words, I can use Because the meaning still leaves for you to choose And I couldn't stand to let them be abused, by you.
Sitting Sitting on my own not by myself, everybody's here with me
The Wind Where I'll end up well I think, only God really knows
Moonshadow Yes if I ever lose my eyes, Oh if.... I won't have to cry no more.
Peace Train Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss
Father and Son But take your time, think a lot, Why, think of everything you've got. For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not
Boy With A Moon and Star On His Head But out of all that I recall I remembered the girl I met 'Cause she had given me something that my heart could not forget.
They don't sound all that good when they're written ... okay... bye

They don't sound all that good when they're written ... okay... bye Nice choices, s271. These are some of my favorites, too. I think I know what you mean - they lose something when they're just written, even if we can hear his voice in our minds when we read them. I'm glad he went back to at least some kinds of music. . . Music is a lady That I still love ‘Cause she gives me the air That I breathe. . . because she also gives his songs the air that they breathe - she brings them to life. ~Sun~

Blue bird on a rock, slow wind blowing soft Across the bare face of the sleeping lake Rise up and be free, voice whispered to me And in this way you will awake
Go climb up on a hill, stand perfectly still And silently soak up the day Don't rush and don't you roam, don't feel so alone And in this way you will awake

I remember when I first heard '100 I dream' I felt this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and in my chest- I then listened to it like 6 times in a row. It is such a beautiful song!

I remember when I first heard '100 I dream' I felt this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and in my chest- I then listened to it like 6 times in a row. It is such a beautiful song! I think that feeling is the sign of a good song - the song has struck a nerve and touched you in some way. It's like when an entire audience is held spellbound, and in their awed silence you just know that they all feel this same feeling. Cat's songs have the power to do this - and Yusuf's new album - I hope so. ~Sun~

Hey, all Cat fans, from me Tiffany Townsend!! Just been listening to a special radio feature of Yusuf/Cat Stevens, my Mum and I were both elated to hear his music of old and new. Here are a few lines to some of his songs, starting off with one from An Other Cup. MAYBE THERE'S A WORLD I have dreamt of an open world, borderless and wide, Where the people move from place to place And nobody's taking sides.
ONE DAY AT A TIME
One day at a time, we can learn to leave our pass behind One day at a time, we can look the future in the eye, One day at a time, we can learn to live.

Hello, again from me, Tiffany Townsend, and welcome back to the Cat Verses section. Here are a few new ones.
Mysterious moon found me crying in the dark, Heard my footsteps on the stairs. Mysterious moon found me crying, but the sun dried my tears Showed he cares.

He stopped by a stall, between the barrels and sacks, A child's face peeped out and closed her door and ran back Behind a misty glass on a window pane A little finger drew a perfect heart and her name

(From On The Road To Find Out) "... Well I listen to the wind come howl, tellin' me I have to hurry. I listen to the robin's song, sayin' not to worry" -- I love the robin part because I (gee I always choke up thinking about this) I think when he was thinking of eventually changing his path away from his current pop-star life, it was scary but he had faith that he would find the right path for himself and didn't have to worry too much, even if he had no idea where he'd finally end up. I just love the imagery he gives me when he mentions animals in his music. Also in Silent Sunlight he's got a bird singing and he's got sleepy horses... I don't know why but the images feel so sweet to me. Forgive my sappyness tonite, I'm on pain killers and lack of sleep!

I love all the songs by Cat Stevens, but my Mum's favourite song verses from Hard-Headed Woman are as follows:
I know many fine feathered friends, but their friendliness depends on how you do. They know many sure fired ways to find out the one who pays, and how you do.
I never wanted to be a star, buy my Mum a Fararie car I only wanted to run my own race So I could win a small place in your heart.
Here's one that my Dad used to hear
She hangs her head and cries in my shirt, she must be hurt very badly. Tell me what's making you sadly. Open your door, don't hide in the dark, You're lost in the dark, you can trust me, 'cause you know that's how it must be. Lisa Lisa, sad Lisa Lisa.
his favourite one I used to sing to him.

I ain't looking to fight no wars, No more talking trash. I'm not seeking any more pain, 'Cause I've had enough of that, But don't you worry, it's all right. if you should come around Any night or any day. I won't ever let you down.

Love, love, love, love must’ve made you on a sunday Cos you taste to me as good as God made honey taste babe And the sky all glistens with gold When you’re talking to me And the whirling wind turns to song Why it sets my soul free

Hello Friends, May I please be a contrarian, and choose 2? Both verses are from the classic "Can't Keep It In": "I’m up for your love, love heats my blood, blood spins my head, and my head falls in love" -and- "You’ve got so much to say, say what you mean, mean what you’re thinking, and think anything" Thanks, Folks! -Bud

Hey guys, My favorite verse is from one of my favorite songs "Tuesday's Dead" (it just makes me want to dance...always has, always will)! "A man may live, a man may die, searching for the question "why?" But if he tries to rule the sky, he...must...fall!" and from the same song: "We must try to shake it down, do our best to break the ground. Try to turn the world around, one.. more...time!"
Al Wada Richina sorry, I look back and see I'm not the only one who loved the lyrics!! My bad!!

Especially "it's so good baby it's so good" (kidding) (a little) ( he he he - no really i am)

All the times that I cried, Keeping all the things I knew inside Its hard, but its harder to ignore it
That verse Yusuf sings wilth sheer emotion that is just phenomenal.
