Hi Anya, I am not really sure what it means, it probably goes well as it starts with d's - I see that your 16, I am actually 15 and i've been a Cat Stevens fan for around a year, I like Kypros aswell, although it is dated, with the synthesizers, if you know what I mean!! If you have a chance you can check out my website if you want, its about Cat Stevens and its been online for about a month. www.my-cat.netI hope you like it Cheers, Justin

anya, I'm glad you raised this question because I've always wondered, too, what in the heck the title meant! It's a great song - but a puzzling song title!
Maybe it was the synthesized "ruff" sound that inspired it...

Hi, Anya, I remember seeing somewhere one of Cat's little illustrations of 'Was dog a doughnut', with a dashund ( or sausage dog ) curled round into a circle, presumedly, chasing it's tail, as dogs do. So whether the picture inspired the title, or the song inspired the drawing I don't know.
As for 'Kypros', I guess it was inspired by the Greek name for the mediterranean island of Cyprus, usually spelt as Kipros. It is a divided island, after the Eastern side was occupied by the Turkish.

Oh to be able to get into that man's head and see what motivates him to write the songs had titles he does. It would definitely be an experience.
And Anya, feel free to ask all the questions you want. The fans are most obliging in answering your questions because we love to talk about CAT.
One question to avoid is 'WHAT IS A MONA BONE JAKON'? But if you have to know ask Vivian.
Love, A'isha
