;D How about it? What Cat songs or lines from Cat songs crack you up and make you laugh? I love this one..."When you kissed your psychiatrist, things just never seemed the same." From "Baby Get Your Head Screwed On" And any line from "Banapple Gas" gets me to smile...Of course it is 'Certified and sterilized'... Love, A'isha

Here's one I just thought of:
i'm so sleepy yeah i'm so sleepy yeah i could lay my head on a piece of lead and imagine it was a springy bed 'cause i'm sleepy, sleepy yeah
For some reason, I can really relate to those words ..... ;D

"I just take off my clothes and jump into the fire again." That line of "Bonfire" has always made me blush as well as cracking me up. Such blatant open sexuality was totally surprising coming from CAT. He always had sexual undertones and insinuations in his more erotic tunes. And then all those uh-huh's, ohs, oohs and ahs leave little to wonder about. Love, A'isha

Well, I certainly crack up when Cat forgets the words to BITTERBLUE! I just wish I can reach into my VCR and give that GORGEOUS BLOKE a GIANT HUG!

"everyone knows that dress will never fit her" isn't that just like a man??

I have to diagree with you there Christine , that line about dress sizes is the sort of thing women say about each other... (Whoops, I better duck now!)
Before I get into deep water...., 'Banapple gas' has got to be amongst one of his silliest songs, and 'Pop star' gets a top prize for a crazy performance.
For the dumbest title it has to be 'It's a supa(dupa) life', even for the era he wrote that in he must have had a few people laughing at that one, ( no wonder Alun Davies was initially a bit sceptical about joining Cat if this was what he used to be capable of!)
Although not one of Cat's own lyrics, I always love the line from 'Another Saturday night' .." she had a strange resemblance to a cat named Frankenstein...", so cruel!

Hey Play, No need to duck on this one. You are absolutely correct, it is definately more like a woman. I was just being silly, and seing if anyone would catch it.
But, I just love Portabelo Road, it has to be my favorite early song.

cat is a cancer............ the female sign of the zodiac so perhaps he was more in touch with his female side then most men.............. and understands more about dresses not fitting. i find that line to be a real tease

Hi,
I've often been tickled by the lines in Come On Baby (Shift That Log). Especially the line "...when everything wasn't so groovy". The dreaded G-word had been used by Simon & Garfunkel (Feeling Groovy), The Minbenders (Groovy Kind Of Love) and countless others, so why not Cat!? So what with all the grooving and washing dogs and shifting logs in the song, it does make me chuckle. That unearthed "lost" song Grandson makes me smile too, wonderful eccentric lyrics. When I Speak To The Flowers and I See A Road have the same effect on me. Not forgetting the opening few lines of Monad's Anthem, I'm always tickled by that!

I like the songs where he says the word BOY.
I just love these two lines, and I think it is the added touch of having the word BOY in them, that makes me love these lines so much. Silly I know.
Made it just in time, boy you've made it just in time.
Just keep on pushing hard boy, try as you may You're going to wind up where you started from <br>
Oh and I love his reference to Brother and Sister in Freezing Steel
But one of my favorite lines of all from Cat is from Freezing Steel "freak with out a face" Perhaps he watched a bit to much Twilight Zone before writing this song. drool L.O.L. I Love it.

I always liked that line "maybe help you fold your clothes... later...". I don't know how that fits in with the song. I guess it depends on what was going on earlier... like maybe the laundry...

I always interpreted this "Later" line as meaning that the clothes landed in a heap on the floor (in a hurry) - if you know what I mean...!

I always thought it was a sexual reference also Jancat. The song is pretty sensual.
I love those "Oh Mommas", especially in Suite C/79. It makes me weak in the knees, but at the same time cracks me up because he is so cute when he does that.
Love, A'isha

Love, A'isha Yeah, I know what you mean - I love the segment of "C/79" where he sings, "...a thousand hours I looked at her eyes..." and then gives this little chuckled "aha" right after that. Now, THAT is "Oh mama-worthy"!

"Oh mama-worthy".....hahaha! That cracks me up and you couldn't have said it better ;D peace and love, Susan Hehehe! ;D Thanks everybody! Looks like we've just added another word to our "Cat lingo", doesn't it??! Ya gotta speak the lingo! And if we ever compiled a dictionary of these terms that we've come up with along the way, I'm thinking that the definition for "Oh mama-worthy" would simply be that photo of the Cat yoga position! Don't ya think?
