Anything to make a buck. (Also, there may be copyright or tradmark issues.)
I'm sure it will be a zoo once the album comes out. I'll be holding my breath when he (if he) appears on Jay Leno. Personally, I'd like to see Yusuf on Craig Ferguson. He really engages his guests, and is very good with them, esp. the ones he feels a kinship with. Not hard to imagine between these two, even though Craig can be very naughty. It's such British humor. I'd love to see that interview (bot NOT Letterman, or Leno or Conan).

Is that the actual cover shot of the upcoming cd?
I don't like it very much, but I suppose it's the music and not the cover I am truly looking foward to anyway. Can't help being a bit disappointed by it though.

Well if it comes to pass that he does do an interview show, I hope that it is indeed with Jay Leno. Jay Leno seems to establish a rapport with all of his guests. I love him.

Jay Leno is great, esp. his monologues but sometimes he kind of fumbles. I think it's a possibility that Jay would fumble or stumble a bit with Yusuf because of the Islam issue.... I could be very wrong. Jay is a contemporary of the former Cat, so it may go very, very well. I still think Craig Ferguson will do a better job, but more people will see the Jay Leno appearance, if there is one. The way that Yusuf is so amazingly gracious and commands a humbled respect wherever he goes, will no doubt positively influence any interviewer LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET THE CHANCE!!!

This was a joke done shortly after Yusuf was refused admittance to the States. It was more having to do with making fun of Homeland Security and not Yusuf.

True, as did many other entertainers.. such as Jon Stewert, even Leno. I loved listening to what Jon Stewert had to say about the subject with Matt on the Today show. Jon Stewert is great!

Jon Stewart is a riot. I loved when he said something like: Our country is now safe. We got the guy who wrote Peace Train. LOL

Well, I had to go deal with T-Mobile (my sim card DIED, waaahhhhh) and I thought about this while away from here.
The fact is, millions of people who saw that comedy bit on Letterman got the subliminal message that Yusuf thinks many people are "infideal dog pigs" . So while I understand it was done as a comedy bit, IMO it didn't do any real service to Yusuf in fact it was a disservice. I had not seen the original bit, so when I saw the video on YouTube, I was very taken aback. In the context of the situation (2 years ago), I can understand it. But people seeing it now don't know that. That is why I'm not happy about it.
I also believe truth and a person's real stance comes out in jest, and there may have been some of that going on there as well. I like to think not, since DL was a contemporary of Cat Stevens and probably greatly enjoyed his music just like we all did.
Letterman is pretty cool, in my book but I still way prefer Craig Ferguson. There's something about Craig that is naughty but VERY NICE, there's just something about Letterman that's naughty but not quite as nice as Ferguson. Just my own opinion.
