The Sun co uk On Line EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW An Other Cup message of peacetinyurl.com/w5pa8I love this part "I've only recorded a few songs by other people because I can't quite connect. It's got to be really tailor-made. But I did Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. That has obvious connotations for my position these days. I love Nina Simone and I used to love her songs and that one particularly. My wife heard me singing it one day at home and she said, "Why don't you do that?" and I said "Mmm. OK" and I got my laptop out and I recorded it in my living room."

One song that represents Yusuf’s incredible musical journey is the euphoric The Beloved, blessed with a stunning vocal performance from Senegalese star Youssou N’dour. “He is just an incredible singer. He moves you,” said Yusuf.
“(...) As well as having this beautiful Middle Eastern flair, the song has also got this strange Gaelic traditional melody to it, and that’s me. That’s the mixture of my styles and my influences. It felt natural to put them together.
middle east + Gaelic music: hey i got it right! :-)

One of the best interviews I've read lately. I hope we someday get to see the "filmed" version. Lora
