This is an extention of the "Who is suitable to interview Yusuf in America?" thread. Vote for who you would like to see interview Yusuf.
I took most of the suggestions from the original thread and placed them in the poll.

In this order:
1. Craig 2. Anderson 3. Larry 4. Jon 5. Barbara
Actually, he should do all five, and it wouldn't be a stretch because they all reach different audiences. As for Letterman or Leno, nix.

I said Anderson Cooper for two reasons: 1. He is most respectful to his guests. 2. Many young people watch his show, and I feel they would benefit from hearing Yusuf speak and sing his message.
But, I know Yusuf will choose the person that he knows is best for him, and for the message.

I still like Oprah, but I do want to see a second round with Larry King, and even Yusuf said he would love to meet with Larry, face to face. I am half and Half with Barbar Walters, mainly because I really admired her sensitivity when she interviewed Terri Irwin. Anderson Cooper, I've never seen him do interviews, so I can't give an honest opinion there, and I've never seen Charlie Rose's show. So, anyway, I'll go with Oprah, Larry King and Barbara Walters.

Charlie Rose is pretty highbrow. That's why I like 'im!
I'd like to see a Larry King round II, too.
Anderson Cooper.. OK.. Oprah --- NO... Ellen -- that'd be COOL! She had Elton John on once (at LEAST). Maybe Yusuf could do the "table dance" with her. LOL (I don't think so.... )
Don't know of.. or haven't ever really watched the others.

Don't EVEN get me started.(I know you jest.) Indeedidoody....i'm actually quite sad that Yusuf hasn't been on the Parkinson show in the UK. Oldentimes Parky was quite a sharp interviewer, but these days he is just rehashing "safe" interviews with the likes of Rod Stewart etc. A serious interview today with Yusuf would have so many contexts that it would take a David Frost to pull it off successfully.

So I take it then, that you feel there isn't really anyone in England who could adequately interview Yusuf? Sure doesn't seem like Frost could do an acceptable job given his track record.
The problem is that there is so much material out there to be had, the music, the print article, the audio clips... but still interviews must be done and that is why a one-hour format is best, as much as it would be good to do some spots on shorter shows.

Tavis Smiley! So friendly and jocular.
(I think he's had Rushdie on before)

Yes, Smiley is great. I haven't been able to listen to him since moving to Oregon. He was on in San Diego and L.A., and probably still is. Maybe he's podcast by now. Not sure if he's the right choice for Yusuf however. And the R thing... people would expect him to mention it since that was one of his guests.

Definitely Charlie Rose - he's a sweet man, a great gentle interviewer (but not too soft like Larry King is), always well prepared and classy. Yusuf could have the full hour or a half hour, there's no commercials on PBS... and I love Charlie's round table!! You're absolutely right about Charlie, LadyD! I totally agree. Only I have noticed he tends to (perhaps out of nervous habit?) interrupt his guests constantly while they're speaking. (sometimes I can't hear what the guest is saying as Charlie overspeaks them!) (it's like he's so well-prepared and sympathetic to the guest that he tries to finish their thoughts for them.) The no commercials thing is a big plus. I love Charlie's smile.

Lucy, are you in the UK? Can you guys get Charlie Rose? It's so aggravating when Europeans can get our stuff while we can't get theirs
