Of course it would. Not that I would be able to get to it, living on the other side of the Atlantic, but it would still be wonderful.

We "amis" could collectively send 5 dozen (i.e., 60) yellow roses, which symbolize friendship. -Joanne

Maybe we can organize a messageboard meeeting in London, Shaftesbury Avenue 245 in the "Nama" Restaurant? I really would come, but unfortunately most of us live too far away from London!!! Maybe this summer I will visit London again, I really love the city!!! By the way, during writing this post,I am just watching this DVD from London concert 1971!! It's been almost 6 years since I last visited London. Being that I live on the other side of the Atlantic, I can't say that I can make it since I already have two trips planned this year, one beginning in three weeks. But maybe we can have a CHATROOM party!! Peace,Vivian

Off the subject of birthdays for a moment, Butterfly: where did you get that DVD? I just searched on Amazon here in the USA & it's not listed. Is it a Europe-only release? I do believe I need to acquire it! Thanks! joni...

Back to the birthday subject - would anyone be interested in meeting at Nama Restaurant - 21st July is Monday but we could maybe make it Saturday 19th and advise Nama we were coming and why - any takers Meg Well, I must admit, that in my case the weekend July 26/27. would be better. Anyway I have planned a London trip for this weekend. Then it wouldn't be possible for me to make a trip to London the weekend before!

I wish I could join you, but lack of money and living on the wrong continent prevents it. I hope some fans from the U.K. and perhaps even Europe can join you. It would be a very nice way to celebrate Yusuf's 60th.

Now, y'all know I generally jump on any excuse to head to London... And it would be absolutely lovely to see everyone and catch up on things. But unless airfare takes a nosedive (oops, bad choice of words there!) between now and July, I'll probably be a good girl and save my pennies instead. Of course, who knows...many things can change... -Joanne

Of course, who knows...many things can change... Oh I can imagine you going, Joanne. I can see it now. I have no trouble picturing it. Me, I'll just stay home as usual... maybe bake a cake. Eat it myself. Maybe take a picture of me eating it. This time there won't be paparazzi taking photos of it. Seriously -- a special fan birthday celebration for Yusuf this year sounds like a great idea! Even if it's just a chatroom party.

I doubt if I can make it to London, either, although that would certainly be something! In any event, since it's such a special birthday, we must do something special on this end. So a chatroom party sounds about right--and within my budget! Who knows, though, maybe I'll win the lottery... lol guess that means I'll have to start buying tickets. joni...

Well, I've just had a long conversation with the ex-boyfriend (with whom I'm still good friends) and he's going to find out if it's possible to get some time off work in late July...he's supposed to let me know tomorrow...if we do this, it may very well involve a jaunt to Paris, as well. I'm off to check internet deals... And, yes, Lucy, you're right! I can see me doing it, too! Meg, would positively love to see you, along with everyone else. Marie, if you're not "in the mix", as it were, I'll be extremely disappointed. But of course, I'd understand. Smooches, all, Joanne

This year, I am pretty sure I can't do it, as I said, Hairy and I already have two trips planned this year. One startting in less than three weeks. But we are already talking about going back to Europe next year. Maybe then there can be another Mes Amis get together.
But heck, in less than three weeks, we'll be in San Francisco for a day or so before we rent a car and drive about 900 miles north with a quick stop in Reno. We'll be back in San Francisco a couple days before we have to fly home. Maybe some Mes Amis on the West Coast can get together if our calenders can coincide!!
Peace,Vivian

I will try to come to London from 25th to 28th of July. Even I have planned to visit the city again. My husband and my 14 year old daughter will come along with me. I hope so.

Are there deffinitive plans made to come together for Yusuf's birthday ?Is'ent he not in Dubai around that time? It's a pity there is no more news on his site for new dates like his center for Islam that they are building or when his musical is going in premiere,it would be easy to plan something then and if you only know it a week before you don't have much time to arrange the trip to London but maybe one day it go's like nothing and i can say London and Yusuf here i come LOL Regii

Hi Meg. I would love to go to the 'birthday party' but I live on the other side of the world. any other suggestions as to what we 'majicatters' can do to celebrate our beautiful man's 60th. Still can't believe he's 60. Maybe Christine has some ideas.
Peace
Margi x
