Lets try a small poll. If you had the job of convincing a friend who is not a cat fan into trying Cat Stevens Music. Which CD would you give him to listen to first. This survey does not include any Best Of CD's, only original LP's. I only had room for 8 answers, so I had to elliminate New Masters and Back to Earth. Also, you IP is logged so you can only vote once.

Cece, I was torn between Mona Bone and Tillerman. As they are my two favorite LP's. I went with Tillerman, because it was the first LP of Cats I ever heard and it just drew me in like a valcum. MBJ has the very same type of effect on me. So I guess it would be a hard decision and goes back to what is our individual favorite LP.

bumping this one too ; this is actually a great thread ... what will I chose ? tough one , I'm torn between his 3 masterpieces of course , Mona , Tillerman & Teaser . I'm sentimentally bounded with Mona , as it was my 1st Cat album . but I always found it bit dark ... Tillerman was my 2nd Cat LP , and I was completelly hooked then . "On the Road to find out" even inspired a very good friend of mine , the one who saw Cat in Köln in april 1976 , to go to monastery .
However ... when I first heard Teaser , I was completelly blown away . that whole album is greatest hits thingy itself , and that's why I voted for it .

TWow, now this is an old post Milan!! It was a hard question. I definately would still stick to my original answer. Though I think any of Mona Bone Jakon, Tillerman or Teaser would be very good intro LP's for a new fan. They all are such great albums. BTW.. They played Peace Train yesterday on the radio during the call in show I listen to. They were doing a call in for songs with peace themes, because of the cease fire in Lebonon and they rated them. Peace Train came in as the #2 peace call in song.

I love Foreigner but you have to be a true "Cat" fan to appreciate it - Tillerman is the one for new Cat people

Peace Train came in as the #2 peace call in song.oh ? nice ... what was # 1 then ? Give Peace a Chance ? I am not sure what made it to the top slot. I was on my way to work when I was listening to the program. And you know how that is when you want to hear the final result, they played commmercial after commercials and by then I was at work. So, I wasn't able to hear the final results. But Give Peace a chance sounds like a logical choice.

Wow this is old! Somehow I am torn between "Teaser" and "Tea" since I bought them both on the very same day! I went with "Teaser" though since it features both my all time Favorite picture and my all time Favorite song "How Can I Tell You" This question still confuses me though Lol!
Take Good Care, Kitty (Cheryl)
