PRESS RELEASE! Eagle Rock kündigen stolz die Veröffentlichung der ersten Cat Stevens DVD an, aufgenommen während der legendären Majikat Tournee durch Nordamerika im Jahre 1976. Ein ehrgeiziges Unternehmen mit involvierten Zauberern, synchronisierten Filmprojektionen und einem riesigen Bühnenaufbau. Es sollte seine letzte Tournee unter dem Namen Cat Stevens werden. Achtzehn Monate später verließ er das Musikbusiness und wurde Yusuf Islam. Nahezu dreißig Jahre lang stand er anschließend auf keiner Bühne mehr. Cat Stevens war einer der charismatischsten und erfolgreichsten Solokünstler der Sechziger und Siebziger. Er verkaufte weltweit mehr als 50 Millionen Tonträger. Dave according to the 'Eagle Vision - USA' website, the DVd goes on sale on May 18th in the USA. Click on the Site Menu and go down to Cat Stevens to read the info on the site. Unforunately, someone will take advantage and have it on E BAY before it is released! They did it for the Box Set. They did it for ANGEL OF WAR and the NEW Peace Train! And no word was mentioned that the money went to charity! I think it is lousy that some people take advantage like that!

Vivian, while I can't speak to the situation with the eBay "presales" of the Box Set, the only copies of "Peace Train/Angel of War" that I ever saw on eBay (including the one I purchased) were promotional copies, meaning that no income is expected to be directly generated by them.

greetings,
I had to go to one of those electronics superstores today for a computer item and while there, I asked a guy in the music section to look up the Majikat Earth Tour DVD. No listing in the database and the guy looked at me like I had been smoking crack.
On the trip back home, while listening to the spectacular new CS cassette tapes that DJ so kindly made for me to replace the one that my car tapedeck ate, I decided to stop at our local independent ecletic music store... you know, the kind where it appears that having at least one piercing is a job requirement and it feels like I have entered a timewarp back to my college days when I enter the store.
I found out that the Majikat DVD will cost $17.99 and that by asking about it, I guaranteed that they will order copies for the May 18th release date. The first one they receive will be reserved for me, however I am under no obligation to take it.
I am passing this along since I'm sure most of you live near one of these independent music stores where they carry every type of music there is and don't act like you are a freak for wanting something non-mainstream. I would rather support these surviving esoteric shops than order from a mass merchandiser. I also get used CS vinyl from this place... sometimes used CD's as well.
Best of all, they actually know who Cat Stevens is, even though they are all 20-something.

Christine, that promo sure looks exciting, and I really can't wait to RUN AT FULL SPEED into Best buy on May 18, and snatch that DVD!! But first, someone is going to have to convince me that this is REAL, and not just a dream! ;D ;D I literally CAN'T WAIT!! Send some more wigs! I NEED THEM!

Other than the footage with the dvd extras on the last compilation cd i have never seen ANY live footage of Cat! I am literally shaking with exitement!
By the way due to my internet conection going to hell I havent been online for ages, why is everyone speaking german? ;D

They are only charging $13.99 for it, cheaper than most music/video stores will probably charge for it. Plus you can get in either the PAL (Europe & Australian) or NTSC (USA & Canada) format.
