Am hoping to join the chat this evening. One of the option is "Float" - does that mean you can just watch the conversation without being registered, etc?

I've always wondered the same thing. Now, I've clicked on float, when I know people are chatting, and I could never see any conversation, so I doubt it means that.

It just permits you to resize the chat screen.
by clicking on the float button, it will take it out of the webpage and open it into another window, permitting it to open the chat window to the full legnth of your monitor screen.
