I love Del Newmans string arrangement for many of Cats songs especially 18th Avenue. In fact, I heard during the 1972 tour, the string arrangement to 18th avenue was actually extended, to prolong the song in concert.
Anyway, this got me thinking, as to what happened to Del. He was such huge influence on many of Cats songs, Lillywhite, Sad Lisa, 18th Avenue.
