Hello, I’m new here.. As a teenager I listen to Cat but only his greatest hit album someone gave me and I really loved it but for some reason I never got into his music more then that one album?? I was being 17 years old, LOL.. but now at 39 I found Cat Stevens again mainly because I bought the Majikat DVD !! out standing DVD!! so now I have his re-mastered CD’s and the Box set and I have to say I’m in love with all his music !! That greatest hits album I had was not even touching the tip of the ice berg !! At 39 years of age I have re - discovered Cat’s music again and I love hearing most of his songs for the first time now !! Cat’s songs for me NOW are a great gift and a great comfort !! He may not be making music in the that way any more but thank God for the music he did give us !! It was truly meant to be Peace, Aquakils

I too only discovered (or re-discovered) Cat's music fairly recently. I feel exactly the same way you do. I think I really couldn't have appreciated much of Cat's work when I was younger. I think it's is amazing that CS had such insight at the young age he was when most of his songs were written. I certainly wasn't thinking so deeply about life at that age.
Happy listening!

The Greatest hits, does not even come close to touching the iceberg, considering all the under rated gems Cat has. And now, after all these years of those unreleased masterpieces being kept locked in a vault, we can think that what a shame it was that gems like "Back to the Good Old Times" and "If Mother could see me now", were not released thirty years earlier. Welcome to Majicat Aquakils,
Cats music really does transcend time. As for his Greatest hits: I've always preferred to listen to his albums. His greatest hits LP/CD just barely scratches the surface providing the listener to his true grit music.

Welcome, Aquakils, and it's so nice to hear that there's another "convert"! Once you've heard Cat, you want everything that he's ever recorded! And I DO mean - everything! ;D I've loved his music for 33 years (EEEK! That makes me sound ancient - even though I'm not!). I only owned a couple of his albums from the '70's, but once I got reacquainted with him via the VH-1 BTM episode, I simply had to fill in the gaps in my collection! You're right about his music being a gift and a comfort. I find that to be very much the case now. I think I understand now what he was singing about then. I'm so happy for you! And enjoy each new discovery!

Hello everyone Majikat the DVD is a gift to the world and god knows we need some positive music now! Yusuf said it in the DVD interview, that if his songs could help someone, "open up that door" then it would make him happy. Well.. It has for me and many others! Thanks for the nice replies, I'm not much for a computer but this is a very nice community on the internet. I'm real glad I found this web site as far as my favorite song? I do not thank there is such thing as a favorite cat song. LOL > they are all great in one way or another. A true cat fan! Kimberly "Aquakils"

I reconnected to Cat Stevens because of the internet and websites like this one. I was a Cat Stevens junkie as a teen, but lost track of him after he walked away from being a star. His music is timeless.

Cat's music being timeless, certainly is the truth. For the more than thirty years that I've been a fan, his music has grown on me, even more, today, than it ever did back in the day.
