This is a question I asked on CS.com about 4 years ago. Yusuf was asked to explain the titles of his albums in Orlando in Feb. 2001 when visiting the University of Central Florida for a lecture. When he came to Mona Bone Jakon, he became very sheepish and said "I won't talk about that one". All of the CS.com members sitting up front just laughed. Do I ever remember that one! LOL Peace,Vivian

The same thing happened at the XM radio interview in May, Katmandu. The interviewer was talking about Mona Bone Jakon, Yusuf let him talk a bit about it, mostly about the drawing on the front cover of the album, but eventually Yusuf cut him off and said 'lets go on to something else'. You could tell he was concerned with what the interviewer may be leading up to.

I guess having such an "unusual" title (for want of a better word!) on an album it will always create interest. Jackie
