But I CAN'T GET IT! I can't even begin to say how FRUSTRATED I am. Peace,Vivian Vivian, I've been watching what is going on over at catstevens.com and I can't say how put out I am that the UK can donate to the victims of the tsunami but we in the states can't. I've been so excited waiting for today and I still can't hear it. This SUCKS!

Hello at all! I am a new member! I am a musician ( Church Organ and Guitar) and came from Germany. I have read that cat/yusuf will come to Germany??? Does anybody know when and where exactely he will come? I hope he really will come and will play guitar and sing. Like the good old times!! That in Yusuf still is a big part from the old Cat can we hear in Indian Ocean song i think. As I heard the song at first time today and the Intro from cat´s guitar began, and he sings the first words, i had the feeling it was like the cat we all know!!!! After i hear the song i take one of my own guitars, obvious a "cat like" guitar an Ovation 1712 from 1978, and try to play the song myself and while i play the song i had the same feeling as i have when i play and sing one of the old songs! Indian Ocean is Cat like i think I hope many new songs in this style will come, and he will sing his old songs too!!!!!!!!! Best regards from Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yusuf said he would be going to Dusseldorf sometine in May. Indian Ocean is great, better than I expected I think, although I don't really know what I expected, lol. I think its a cross between Cat and Yusuf. Its a great tune really memorable and I love the haunting quality at the end.

Notice the emotion in his voice during "just one slip and you're dead". Haven't heard that since Cat....
Touching!

Hi everyone!
noor and I downloaded this song the other day... I was floored. This song is brilliant. Moving. Powerful. I'm still in shock at the quality and songmanship.
We had no problem with our download -- in fact, we put it on our laptop and desktop.

Dude! Hi indeed! Good to see you. OK, you are what, 45 minutes away from me? Yet you were able to download it no problem. Bizarre. -Joanne

S still can't download it. Yusuf did mention Itunes (the only American one on the list of links) would have it later in the week but it is still not on there. I guess I'll just keep listening to the BBC until further word. Peace, Tillerman

I hope I don't get lynched, but I really don't like "Indian Ocean." I just downloaded it from iTunes. I was really hoping it would be what everyone here says it is, but I was disappointed.
The song was long and overly repetitious. The same limited melody line over, and over, and over again. And the lyrics ... well ... they sounded like Yusuf was trying too hard to "move" me (for some reason, I felt kind of manipulated).
Please, don't hate me. I 'm really bummed out. I wanted to like the song.
But, my downloading experience today wasn't all bad. I finally got "The First Cut is the Deepest."

Nickleby, you have valid points -- I can understand all of them. Try listening to the song a few more times. I liked it better each time, myself.
Also.. I think there's a phenomenon that occurs when people rave about something -- you tend to build heightened expectations. It's best to go into something not expecting much... and then POW, you really feel like you discover something.
As I said, give it several (or more) listens.... if nothing else, do you at least like the part where he sings, "just one slip and you're dead"... ? Now doesn't it sound like the old Cat?
