Why do people keep responding to that other thread, bringing it to the top every day, and allowing whoever started it to get their "attention fix" out of this?
So here's a new thread! He's wonderful, and here's why:
His lyrics are thought-provoking, and help people to see important things within themselves in a new way.
His songs uplift the human spirit.
His heart is always in the right place. He is earnest and sincere.
He has led a fascinating life, and his journey is an inspiration to others, even those of us who aren't as spiritual as he is.
Feel free to add to this list....I'm hoping I've just got you started!

He "feels" his music and seems to be enjoying his performances as much or more than the audience as is witnessed in the Majikat DVD. lol

He's a humanitarian who's most happy when he's helping those in need. He brought his gift of music back to us.
Peace,Vivian

He puts his money where his mouth is and even more importantly, he puts his heart out there as well. He does not merely pay lip service but he travels to Countries where he feels help is needed and shows how much he truly cares.

I'd have to disagree Leonard Cohen springs to mind with Chelsea Hotel " we are ugly but we have the music." Whereas I don't think Leonard is ugly either, I have to say he didn't have Cat's good looks, but I still appreciate him, one of my favourites in fact

As I journey down the Straight Path of Islam, I think about how Br. Yusuf has walked this way before me and I love him more for that than anything else he has ever done.

Cat was giving a good influence on me when i was 14.I was always translating his song lyrics to find out what he wanted to tell.He was looking for the true pad in his live and it was giving me the reason to go deeper in myself and see that there is more. And now his back and still he give me a example to see further than this material world. And off cause his beautyful music is the cherry on the tart.Regine

I always liked his music, because many of his songs consist of some of the very thoughts I have about ecology, war, peace, love, human conditions but could never put into words. Yusuf songs says it beautifully. Where Do The Children Play, Peace Train, Moonshadow How Can I Tell You King of Trees Ruins They are wonderful, and listening to his music makes me feel good. I feel a connection to Yusuf through his very thought provoking songs.

There has never been another singer (although I like many) who has captured my heart quite like Cat Stevens has.

Oh i must say that is what i feel to when i heard this songs.Sometimes i wonder what Yusuf now thinks about ecology and how he apply it in his live and family home. There are many poor people in the world who are victims off a misuse off are invironment.Sometimes there food is poison because off pesticites or they lose there grounds.Or they are in war and there are lying bombs are other chemical stuff on there lands. It's long ago that he was saying something about this issues ,maybe it will be in his new songs. And everytime i here something about losing a piece off nature in my neighbourhood i want to let them here the songs King of trees and Ruins so they can feel how wrong they are. When you listen you see the movie before your eyes.So curious for his new songs.Yusuf could you tell us a little teeny weeny about the songs LOL Regine .

I also like the fact that Yusuf Islam respects any and all Religions. Tolerance and understanding of someone else's belief system is paramount to bridging the gap between hatred and love of one's fellow man.
