I agree with you white satin, the lucky ones of us who were at Night Of Rememberance in London who had the privilege of chatting with him, were all delighted that he looked so much like his father - so handsome and so charming.

When I first saw that photo I just could not get over how proud and happy Yusuf looks as a father, and how protective of his son...... what a sweet, sweet photo. It is one of my favorite. And look how gentle he looks in that photo. Surely many people will realize what the Path has done for him (and his family and friends, and people the world over). All you have to do is look at the old photos and the new photos and there it is. A diamond in the rough to a shining star. Believe me, I am looking at that in the context of my own life.

I met Craig and although he had the hair, apart from that I didn't think he looked like Cat (no offence intended Craig if you're reading this) could definately play a great tune though, hope he's doing well with his tribute gigs

It would be a big shame if Adam Sandler or Jack Black picked it up. I like thier movies but if they played Cat it would end up being a dumb comedy.

I have a friend who is British, a writer, an actor, and he used to be in a band called Bad Boys Inc, he's gorgeous, his name is David W Ross. He's on myspace.
I bet he could play him and probably help write the story. Plus he went through all that music business stuff, playing stadiums to screaming fans, teen magazine covers, etc etc, then he moved to LA to write and act and never looked back.
I'll talk to him.
He had a part in the independent film Quinceanera a couple of years ago and he's got scripts in development.

I have just seen a few movies with the actor Mark Ruffalo... and I think he is a terrific actor and with a beard he really resembles Cat...something in the eyes and his vulnerability really makes him suitable to play Cat..in my view...here is a link from the movie "we don't live here anymore". www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a0LBJeXRx0

I feel it is to soon to think about a movie on CS's life let alone who will play the part. He is still active, making music, and has so much more to contribute. A new chapter has just begun. When all the chapters have finished, maybe that is when a film should be considered. For the time being, I think he has told us all we need to know about his life, and we should be happy anticipating for what's to come.

I think Viggio Mortensen (Aragon in Lord of the Rings) would do it looks wise. he can speak perfect English when he wants but Dont know about the singing. Hey, if they can make Pearce Brosnan dress up in a sparkling suit and sing Abba - they can do anything.
Richard Gere could play the older Cat Stevens as he looks like him and he is also a great musician with a fantastic voice.
Id love to play his love interest.
Peace Margi x

Hi Shunra, I'm not saying we should wait for that time, I just feel there will be an important chapter of his life missing for the movie to be complete. A movie will be great when the timing is right, but a biography written by the man himself, even better.
