OMG.. Ron, you did it!! Tell your friend Juilian ,Thank you...What a nice treat after all these years... And I agree with you, of the two songs, Time/Feel My Eyes is my favorite. She puts so much passion and energy into the songs, unlike most other covers of the songs. Thanks Again! Now if only we could see 'The Foreinger Suite' in such crispness! This proves that there is a great copy of the concert out there.

I enjoyed this tremendously. She is a doll. She has battled severe depression in her life and is to be admired for her courage. I wish you could post that picture here and make it bigger, Ron. It looks very nice.

This is such a wonderful treat, but did I miss something? I only caught the "Fill My Eyes" part. Did Linda also sing "Time"? Because it doesn't appear on my computer. And I will say this again. SOMEONE has the entire show and is being very selfish with it.
Peace,Vivian

I gotta agree with White Satin. I dont like her adaptions of Fill My Eyes, and The First Cut Is The Deepest ... that's too much country style for me ... That's ... ... ... so ... ...

Thats fine Jacky, Jan.. not everyone has the same taste. I have been a fan of Linda since her Heart Like a Wheel came out. Back in the 70's bands like Linda, The Eagles, Alabama, Marshal Tucker weren't called country music, they were southern rock. Oh, and also one of the big significance of these 2 video's and why so many people are excited about it, is because Linda R performed them on Cat's 'Moon and Star' concert, which is impossible to locate.

I was watching a tv show in 1967 called It's Happening with Paul Revere & the Raiders. Linda Ronstadt was a guest singing Different Drum. I was only 13 and I recall thinking "she's not bad for a girl!" I was hooked. I went out and bought all her albums and began to collect everything I could find about her. 4 years later I went off to college in Kentucky and in the Spring Semester Linda performed as a front act to the Earl Scruggs Revue for a flood benefit concert.
I made sure I was standing backstage with all my albums, scrapbooks and anything that could be autographed..and of course, my friend Roy with a camera. We were both extremely nervous and I was totally shy (and sweating). When Linda finished her set and came around the bend I was there waiting for her. I told her she was my favorite singer and she replied "Bless your heart" ..... I was in a daze and really couldn't hold a conversation... tongue-tied and all .....and she was just so kind and beautiful. I was 18 and Linda was 25.
Even then Linda hated having her picture taken. When I asked her if I could have it taken with her she jumped next to me and smiled. Roy's hands were shaking holding the camera and it was all I could do to get Roy to take the photo. (he cut half of her out)
I was so exhilarated after meeting Linda that I ended up getting very ill ...some sort of panic attack that put me in the school infirmary for almost a week to recover from the experience (ha).
Then, a month or so later I was reading an interview she gave and she said "recently some guy came up to me and told me I was his favorite singer and I thought to myself, man does this guy have bad taste!" (she was very self-depracating back then) But I was thrilled that she remembered me (at least I like to believe it was me she mentioned). In 1972 she wasn't known at all except for a few die hards like me. It wasn't until Heart Like A Wheel came out in 1974 that she exploded onto the scene.
I view her appearance on Cat's Moon & Star Concert as her "Coming Out" to the major populations of music lovers even though she has been on the scene for awhile. That appearance caused lots of excitement about her that only helped to propel her when HLAW came out late in 1974. I always felt she should have included both of Cat's songs on an album but it never happened. Fill My Eyes could have been a hit but I guess it was never to be.
I left out a few details but that is basically the story.

ok, which part of the story did you leave out. Let me see... the part where she bent you over backwards and kissed you fully on the lips, or the part where you vomited on her shoes. LOL Just joshing you, kid. What a great story and come to think of it you do look a little nervous or shell shocked in that picture.

I've never been a fan of the banjo. But the song's great otherwise.
And I've always loved her voice .. wouldn't she and Yusuf sound great together?!
Thanks for this treasure, ronstadtfan!
