French-Canadian singer-songwriter Jean-Pierre Ferland who was about to give the very last performance of his career tomorrow night in Montreal suffered a stroke earlier today. During this afternoon's rehearsal, Ferland, 72, had a stroke (CVA) and was taken to the emergency ward at Saint-Luc's Hospital, where he will be kept under observation. Currently, his condition is stable, but the neurologist, Dr Monique d'Amour, confirmed that Mr. Ferland will most certainly not be in a condition to present his performance tomorrow evening. Ferland met Cat Stevens through André Perry in 1975 while recording "Numbers" at "Le Studio" in Morin Heights (Quebec) and both were reffered in later articles as a "friends". Cat actually attended a concert by Ferland in March 75 in Montreal. Just tought I would post it here... I wonder if Yusuf still remembers "son vieil ami". www.jeanpierreferland.com/intro.html

Yusuf ususally remembers his friends. I think Charles would be no different. So sorry to hear this, and my prayers go out to his family.
Peace,Vivian

This is so sad, Charles. And to happen just before his last performance. My prayers to him and his family.
