I suddenly had an image of Yusuf singing Dontcha Think I'm Sexy or Maggie May and I got the giggles so bad! I'm glad I didn't have a mouthful of coffee at the time (a miracle!) Yusuf could do Mandolin Wind quite rightly, though.... BTW welcome kitkat! I have a "kitkat" of my own, and she is 23.

What a hysterical sight that woud be. ;D Though, there are a few songs by other artists, I would like to hear Yusuf sing. :-)

Oh I can just picture a young Cat singing "Do you think I'm sexy", and us girls would be screaming YES YES YES! LOL As for other songs Yusuf would possibly sing, let me think about that.

Peace, Vivian Hi Vivian, well not sure "Cat Stevens" would have sung those... even though he did party hearty back then... but when I read your comment I got an image of the very young Cat singing that, as in when he was standing in that auditorium aisle swaying and snapping his fingers--sheesh all those kids sure looked bored or maybe they were just being veddy briddish, I mean it WAS 1967!

Well I was thinking more in the line of 1972-1975, when I was really into Cat and nothing but Cat, and thought he was drop dead gorgeous.
Peace,Vivian

Well I know you're much more familiar with him from those days than I am! I was a fan back then, but not as much as I am now, that is for sure! I mean I still have the vinyl (never will give those up!) but I was super into Joan Baez and trying to sound just liker her ;D

anyway, nobody could do it better than Cat You could well be right. But sometimes a cover from a respected artist can even give it new meanings it, don't ya think...i'm immediately thinking of: - Johnny Cash singing Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt"
- Jimi Hendrix of Bob Dylans' "All Along the Watchtower"
- Jeff Buckly's cover of Leonard Cohens' Hallelujah
- Nirvana's rendition of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" by Leadbelly
BTW welcome kitkat! I have a "kitkat" of my own, and she is 23. Why thank you But i'm going to be honest here. I think you should throw away you 23-year old kitkat. I mean hasn't the chocolate gone a bit funny? ... .. . Thanks(!) Now I can't get Rod Stewart out my head in his leopard-print elastic trousers..........

How did you know I have an old KitKat?! I bought one and saved it with her memorabilia when it became one of her nicknames.
Rod's basically a good egg, even if he was the king of leches back in the day and wore stupid trousers!

You're absolutely right, Jeff Buckly's Hallelujah is a masterpiece, one of the best songs i've ever heard, but remember; the original song was by Leonard Cohen not by Cat Stevens otherwise he would never beat him!! ;D
