I read something about this Hanson concert, but I didn't know there was a video. I didn't know Hanson was still performing before I read about this concert. I prefer Cat singing "Peace Train"! LOL, although I really do wish he would put the energy into it that he used to. It seems a little slow, or something the way he performs it now. Anyway, it was a nice tribute to Yusuf that the Hanson's closed their concert with "Peace Train", even though their version left alot to be desired!!!! Thanks for the link, Joanne. edited to add this: Found this new link on the page your link is on. It's pretty much the whole song, and not too bad if the recording had been better. A jam session "Peace Train"! Too bad there is so much background noise. You can see a little glimpse of Andrew WK at the very end. Actually, after seeing this new clip, I kind of like it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7ul80V9E8w&mode=related&search= edited the second time for spelling!

About the energy, though, I meant I wish Yusuf would sing "Peace Train" more like he used to in the old days. It was faster, I think, maybe , or more energized. I can't seem to explain exactly what I mean, but I just like the 70's version better. The way Yusuf sings it now it seems slower, or something. I like it, but I think the way he used to sing it was better. Just my opinion.

With age the energy slows down a bit... Have fond memories and look at the heart and the expressions Yes, you are right.......... appreciate what we have and don't always want more!! After all, a couple of years ago we never thought there was any possibility that we'd ever again see Yusuf in concert! BUT........ I don't feel that Yusuf doesn't have the energy....I think he still has tons of energy - more than the average person. Otherwise, how could he do all he does! I remember hearing Alun say (this is back in the 1970's) that Steve had more energy than anyone else he knew (or something to that effect). It was in a radio interview and I remember when he said it he sounded so amazed that anyone could have that much energy.....he said "boundless energy"! The clip of that interview was on C.S.com. I think Yusuf is holding back on purpose, and I know he has his reasons, and to him they're all true, as the song says. I'm just saying that on just this one song, "Peace Train", I wish he wouldn't hold back. I wish he would play and sing it in his trademark staccato manner. Where he says "I've been crying lately", the silence (except for guitar strumming) before he goes on to "thinking about the world as it is" then the great strum of the guitar, that is magnificent! He does that now, but not as much. Many people have sung that song but no one else has ever sung it as well or with as much passion. Oh, that is it: PASSION! I think that's what is missing - the passion in his voice! Well, I'm finding it practically impossible to put into words what I mean, so I'll stop!! lol. Hope you have some idea of what I'm trying to say. I love him singing all the other songs. - it is only "Peace Train" I'm talking about.

I know what you mean, I think his performances now are very good but more sweet than spicy. I flip from one song to the next on his new album and honestly they're all similar in tone and tempo. A little bit of spice would make it more interesting. At the end of the day it;s about the music. Not about his motavation to come back, if he looks like he's still CAt, the middle eastern decor on stage, or whatever. My ears don't hear any of that stuff.
