I think that was adorable. I think Yusuf would be very impressed if he should see this.

Hi Catty , I tried to look at this ,but is says its been removed by the user , are there any other clues or names of this video . Watched Mr Bigs Version , thought it was excellent , they obviously love the song , they put alot of energy and passion into their version .Michele

Sorry I think the James Blunt and Micy Green Version is Diabolical ,Out of tune ,and James Blunt is obviously reading the words Very poor . Michele

Thank you for the link, Anette. I have to agree with Michele. It sounds as if they're both singing the melody line (with one or both out of tune), creating very annoying dissonance. Plus, their timing is off - they're not tight at all.
I'm no expert, but I think it would be better if the pitches of their voices were miles apart and if they practiced together some more. Then there'd be some harmony and not a mini tug-of-war between their voices. James Blunt needs to take the lead! His enthusiasm is very sweet, though.

Butterfly, that was WONDERFUL!!!THANKS!! Hey Ruins, are you a James Blunt Fan?? In Germany he is a famous musican and last week he was number one in German charts with his new album. I must confess that "All The Lost Souls" is not bad!!! Some of his songs sound good to me.

The success of James Blunt's first album was due to some form of mass hypnosis. Each to their own, but to my ear, he's unbearable. His version of Wild World is saccharin karaoke. Where's the melancholy and protectiveness? He's voice is tinnitus and sends dogs yapping four blocks away. Sorry :-)

Each to their own, but to my ear, he's unbearable. I totally agree. And not only that, but there's something hoity-toity about him as well that just doesn't work with pop music. (maybe works better in a musical?) And there's a certain trill in his voice that's irritating.

I think it was "You're bee-yoootiful" sung castrato and played constantly on the radio (payola!!) that tipped me over the edge.
Sorry Cristalina!! Please take a few rotten eggs and tomatoes from me :-)

Where's the melancholy and protectiveness? And the hurt, . . . and the vulnerability, . . . and that edge, with its ever-so-subtle anger? Cat's interpretation ran deep, while the other interpretations seem so shallow in comparison. ~Sun~

Oh dear, I'm going to see him in January, just booked my ticket I wouldn't worry, Cristalina. Obviously, a lot of people enjoy his songs (maybe not his covers). Afterall, Ruins is a fan, and Anette says his new album seems quite good: Hey Ruins, are you a James Blunt Fan?? I hope to hear some of the songs from All the Lost Souls, since I haven't heard any so far. I hope you'll give us a concert review, Cristalina! ~Sun~

Please take a few rotten eggs and tomatoes from me :-) Lol ;D I can imagine how hearing You're Beautiful constantly on the radio could tip you over the edge, I rarely listen to the radio so only heard the song when I chose to. I loved the 1st album, though I haven't heard anything from All the Lost Souls yet

Oh dear, I must admit, that I visited a James Blunt concert last year in Cologne together with my husband. I absolutely can listen to his music, but my husband has a similar opinion like Daddy-o. I have to admit my husband feels the same way. He will normally come with me to most concerts that I choose but I'm afraid he refusing to come to James Blunt

I really do like "Wisemen" very much from James Blunt's first album. He was on one of the morning shows and sang it and ever since then I've really loved it. It is the melody of the song, I think, that I like so much. I'm not sure what the lyrics really mean, though.
I was really pleased when James sang "Wild World" at "Live Earth London". It was the fact that he was honoring Yusuf by singing it that I found really nice, even though we all love Cat's version better. I would imagine that artists are really pleased when another artist covers their songs. I was happy that one of Cat's songs was represented at the London show even though Yusuf was performing in Germany. It is really so nice to read of other artists being inspired by Cat.
Another artist who Cat has inspired is James Morrison. I just love his song "Wonderful World"! He really sings it so well, and the song itself reminds me of a Cat song somewhat with the time changes, etc.

Yes, this is true. I remember Muse and Christine saying this before as well. And I also feel grateful to James Blunt for this. Even if James Blunt isn't to everyone's taste, I appreciate that he had the class to bring Yusuf's presence to the London stage by performing Wild World for a very appreciative audience. ..... I think it was great that someone covered a Cat song in the London production..... he must have a following to be in the business as long as he has. ~Sun~

What do you think about this Cover?? I think it is successful!! Jose Feliciano - Wild World (Cat Stevens)In one of the comments I read following:Cat Stevens was a friend of Jose and after Jose recorded this song in late 1971, Cat invited Jose to jam together in a concert: in a interview Cat says work with Jose live was one of his best jam in his career.
