After listening to the album 24/7 I really gotta say that the album is really good. Market Place and Old Bourbon are just great songs. Especially Market Place sounds very Irish . I am not too fond of Alun's Portobello Road version with the Banjo - I just dont like the Banjo in there. It doesn't suit the style of the song if you ask me but apart from that the album is an interesting approach.

Thank you for the info Jacky. I have a cd of it (boot), so I may have to buy this remaster. One of my favorite song is 'Old Bourbon' as well. I think I may have read some where that he saw the old dog, while they (Cat and Alun) were in New Orleans for a performance in the early 70's.

Hi all, Well, I stumbled through the German website with the help of a translation site: www.freetranslation.com/Just 4 days after ordering Daydo it arrived today. I am listening to it now. Anyone who hasn't heard this album then PLEASE do! It is a really good album and you can hear Cat singing and playing the piano in his trademark way. Alun Davies is wonderful - he is a very talented man who, I think had a huge influence on the young Cat Stevens and certainly had a big hand in shaping Cat's albums after his bout with TB. So what do I think of the cd? It's great! It certainly is very crisp and is a joy to listen to. A couple of tracks seem to start more abruptly than they do on the album as if they have trimmed the first note slightly but I may be wrong. Try the start of Vale of Tears for example. Incidentally, I always thought this track should be Veil of Tears - anyone agree? Young Warrior also seems to have a somewhat abrupt start too. See what you think. Anyway, just make sure you get a copy - it might not be available for long!!!! All the best - Chris
