Dear DJ,
I simply have to thank you so much for contributing such refined Cat Stevens TABs. These jewels of TABS are hard to find in the vast world of tabbing people who simply cannot get it right.
Your latest edition of 'How Can I Tell You' simply fullfils a dream of mine to wonderfully fingerpick this masterpiece Alun-like. Thank you alot. ^.^ I would simply throw new Gibson Strings at you because I'm so happy ^.^
With 'Heaven/ Where True Love Goes' you made many people's dreams come true to finally play the newest Yusuf Islam hit in a most accurate way.
Thank you, DJ. (~ off to playing 'How Can I Tell You')

Very nice work DJ. Yep, that's how I learn to play Alun's part of my fave song ~ partly by watching him on BBC 71 and the rest by ear. Really nice sound when you put both parts together.

Thanks Jacky and glaucus, It's always nice to hear the work is appreciated.
I'm glad you prompted me to have another go at 'How can I tell you', and make the little changes to the way I tabbed it a few years ago.
I guess you never really stop learning on guitar no matter how long you've been playing, it's such a fascinating instrument. The same goes for Cat's songs, at first they appear straight forward, with simple chord structures, but the more you listen the more there is to discover.
I remember this as one of the first songs I tried to learn when I started on guitar, so I could sing it to my first love. I was happy I could get all the way through it ( just strumming Em - A - D - G) I'm married to her now, and still playing it, only just a bit more subtly. LOL

What a cute story. ^.^ But you are right. "How Can I Tell" is really to be played for the ones you love. It's a great, passionate song with a wonderfully worked out melody line on the guitar. Thanks a lot ^.^

DJ, I'm new here as a member, but I remember a few months back when I clicked on this site after searching "Cat stevens Guitar Tabs" and felt like a kid in a candy store after seeing all of the tabs listed here. Thanks to you and everyone who has shared. Every CS song I know, I have learned from 35 years of listening to the albums only (no videos, DVDs, etc). Imagine how it is for someone like myself who has been playing these songs by ear only, to in one click be looking at your mile long list of tabs. Again, thanks for all of the time and work it took to put that together. I'm just now starting to go through it.
"How Can I tell You" was my favorite CS back in 1972 and has been ever since. No song has ever meant to me what that song means. I got my wifes attention way back when by singing and playing that song too. Now, off to check out your tabs on it...

Welcome to Majicat, Gino, glad you discovered us.
I don't check in as much as I once did, and so I'm pleased to see that there are a few more contributors like Jacky and Workahollis1 who have kindly taken up the baton with their own tabs.
With all that wealth of experience of your own, I'm sure you will have your own contributions to make too.
The power of 'How can I tell you' has obviously charmed a few ladies hearts over the years...
I hope you have many hours pleasure trying out the guitar tabs here.
