I don't visit this thread very often and apologize if it's been discussed before, but it's new to me.... Guitar harmonics. www.guitarforbeginners.com/harmonics.htmlI didn't know how certain musicians produce that twangy bell-like sound on certain notes, so I asked someone and now I know! I tried it on my own guitar and got it to work. Fun!

Check out Alun Davies' use of it in Father and Son and several other songs (e.g. The Wind - intro). Harmonics are pretty much underestimated. But with a good guitar you can produce the greatest sounds with just the natural harmonics .

Harmonics certainly add interest (and awe) to a piece.

Yeah, Edgar Cruz is an amazing guitarist. Not only because he can actually play the guitar the way he does, but more because he can figure out how to play the bass line, lead vocals, vocal harmonies, guitar line, etc , all on the same instrument.
