IntoCat, That seems to be the question of the hour: Did Yusuf move to Dubai permanently or temporarily.

I am not sure, but I think he has settled there. Hey, it is beautiful there and warm. And Yusuf has always loved the ocean and sunshine.
I am just breathing a big sigh of relief that our buddy if safe and sound and happy.
Love, A'isha

Sources? Or tell us how you are deriving your conclusions? MoL on their website says they are opening a REGIONAL office not moving headquarters. Turan

Well, the way Yusuf was talking was pretty indicative that he was living there. It was the impression I had about it. And a couple of people have mentioned that he has been lecturing in that area in the last few months.

I think A'isha is right, there! It just seems like he relocated! As long as he is safe and happy, then, so am I!

What a sweet message...friendly and warm with a unifying theme.
Awww...Yusuf will always be a Londoner I think. It's in his blood; I would imagine he'll maintain a home there even if he sets up second residence elsewhere. I suppose it makes good business/financial sense too.

You are extrapolating too far for the snippets you know.
Yusuf once had a home in Brasil, he had a place in Morroco he probable still does. I don't know.
I am uneasy when rumour builds and soon is taken as fact.
Peace, Turan

Point taken, Turan. Feel free to disregard my previous post (oh, except for the part about the sweet message).
However, as for extrapolation and rumor...I've seen a helluva lot worse.

I wonder if Yusuf hasn't just taken up a second home, so he has a place to stay in while working in Dabai. It would be a lot more comfortable than staying in a hotel.
I think Jen is right, London will always be Yusuf's home at least in his heart.

Yes, from what I understand he had indeed moved his home to Dubai, and no, it's not just speculation or rumor. Who knows whether or not it's a permanent move? I mean....how many of us have permanently lived in one place? From what I gathered from his message, it seems he wanted to reside in a Muslim country for a change....a modern, progressive one at that! ;D Does he still keep a residence in the UK? Dunno, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did. Lots of folks keep more than one home...hehehe... Vivian, I'll go to the UAE with ya! I've had that on my list of places to go for a couple of years now....hehehe...My bags are packed!! peace, love and flowers, Sakinah

Now, imagine if Hamdi had followed through on his original ideas. When we lived in Jordan we had discussed moving to Dubai. He was seriously thinking about it and I was all for it. But something 'came up' and the plan didn't go through. But imagine if it did, I would be living near Yusuf....
Love, A'isha

Thanks ya'all for letting me know there was more info than what I could see in articles. I despise building mountains out of molehills unless it is in my selfish interest. Teehee I am not surprised that Yusuf is feeling tired of fighting the flow in a non Islamic country. Especially after this year. I think every Muslim I know and many others of us are feeling depressed and exhausted from this year. All join A'isha in singing KUMBAYA! Turan

We got sing it with a raw rasp low in the belly with a heavy reggae drum beat back up. That'll keep her with us.
Belting it out at a roar, Turan
Oooops, she just had an exam and maybe we should croon a lullaby.

Usually the tickets prices in the low season,, is not that expensive to UAE,, it ranges from 1000-800$ ,, normal price usually is 1250-1400$,,, if anyone is thinking to travel to UK,, ask how much extra would cost to go to Dubai, usually it is not a big deal,, my favorite Airlines are British Airways and Emirates airlines…Dubai is like NewYork, there are 110 Nationality living there. And it is not that Islamic, I mean they are mosques , but does not mean, you will not find night clubs there,,, now it has become a hub between the far east and Europe.. I do recommend someone to visit Dubai,, this time of the year until late March, then it starts getting hot and humid

Maybe we'll get to travel to your beautiful country Mohammed, are you living there now or are you in the US or UK? Salaam Alaikum, Sakinah

he actually sang 'Sittting'!!!
I wonder how it sounded after all these years.
would have loved to be a fly on the wall there.
And the speech is really well done. I think I will quote from it next time someone tries to spread misinformation about islam. Mashallah. It is as allah wills. And praise be to allah.
thanks again for the link...this should really be BIG NEWS.
peace 2 u, -anwar
