at the ucf lecture i recall him saying something to the effect that he wished his brother practiced it.. better? more completely? more devoutly? something like that.

You know, it is still up in the air as to whether Anita said the Shehada. The article just says that she accepted Islam... It could be that she embraced it, or it could mean that she understood her brother's choice. That part is a little evasive and unclear.
