Thought I just had to share this one with you. My friend asked me to look after her property whilst she and her husband were on holiday. I was to sleep there at night. I drove out to the property at night time through endless bush. Here in Perth we are surrounded by bushland. I arrived at the property and as I drove down the long farm track to the house I suddenly realised how alone I was. There was nobody around for miles and as I looked at the tin sheds in the pitch dark thoughts of 'Wolf Creek' started entering my head. I decided to play my Cat Stevens music at full blast to take the edge off my wariness. The next day I sat outside and looked at the surrounding scenery which was absolutely breathtaking. There was a family of kangaroos, mother, father and joey in the paddock. I sat drinking tea and just breathing in the air. I had Cat Stevens morning has broken playing and it was the most spiritual feeling. I was alone but I didnt feel alone. It was the most beautiful situation, Nature, peace and Cat Stevens music playing in the background. What more could a person ask for.
Peace to you all
Margi x

What a nice evening and morning, Margi. There is nothing better than to be alone with nature and to add a little cat stevens in the mix, makes it even more serene. Thanks for sharing. I once vacationed in Glacier National park, came down from a long hike to iceberg lake, and went into the camp store to get a little snack or pop. Once in the store I heard one cat stevens song, and then another, and then another, finally I realized they were playing Tea For The Tillerman CD. Behind the counter was a college age young man, who had recently discovered Cat Stevens and was sharing his new discovery with visitors to the store. He had 2 or 3 other Cat Stevens cd's to be popped into the cd player after Tea finished. He said it was amazing how many people had come up to him and said "Cat Stevens!"

Oh Margi, you took me back to the Australian outback. Loved your story. I don't think I could sleep alone in the outback, with or without CAT music. Very brave Margi. Waking to that beautiful scenery, probably made you forget the dark thoughts of the night.Wish I could have been there drinking tea with you.
Your story reminded me of family drives to the Dandenong mountains with CAT STEVENS playing in the car. till we found our favourite little cottage to have fresh scones , fresh cream, stawberry jam and tea.In the 70's there wasn't a radio station that wasn't playing CAT STEVENS music .
Feeling a little home sick .....downunder72

Hi, I live in the Blue Mountains, West of Sydney Australia. We are surrounded by national park, there are creeks and waterfalls within walking distance from our home. I love painting and photography, often I paint form sketches and photos I've taken. Listening to Cat Stevens music while doing this makes it a truly spiritual feeling. Peace Mary
