The Yusuf Islam org site has been updated today, with a very interesting and recent article (only 3 weeks old)from Australia. I found it quite interesting. He discusses everything from his moniker name *Steve Adams* to his current activities. So be sure to check it out. www.yusufislam.org.ukor to go straight to the article: www.yusufislam.org.uk/article3awwcat.shtml

Christine, I read that article this morning and really enjoyed it. It's great to see Yusuf granting more interviews and that he is acknowledging the good his Cat Stevens music did and is still doing.

yusuf says"But, looking back and realising what my music meant to my fans at the time, I can understand how they felt and I'm sorry that we lost that link. I think it's being rebuilt, I'm still very involved with Cat, and I'm actuallly chuffed to see him going so strong." so i looked up chuffedchuff2 Pronunciation Key (chf) intr.v. chuffed, chuf·fing, chuffs To produce or move with noisy puffing or explosive sounds: “Switch engines chuffed impatiently in busy rail yards”chuff2 Pronunciation Key (chf) intr.v. chuffed, chuf·fing, chuffs n. A noisy puffing or explosive sound, such as one made by a locomotive. :-) so perhaps it has a slang or different meaning in england.....
lol unless yusuf is really making explosive puffing sounds about cats continuing
popularity......

Too funny Tree !! I had to take a second look at that word as well... It's a word I have never heard before, at least not in that context. Ok, lets hear from someone from the UK. What does Chuff mean? I'm sure it means tickled or thrilled, something along that line.
I thought it was cute to see Yusuf refer to Cat in the 3rd person context, as him.

...A noisy puffing or explosive sound, such as one made by a locomotive. Perhaps Viv's "Pant, pants, hubba, hubbas"? ;D

Chuffed means really happy/over the moon/delighted etc.... Thanks Boot for the defination of chuff. It's interesting how many of our words are completely different from the UK to America.

I have to say that is the best article about Yusuf that has come out in a long time. And if people can't understand he has cleared the air on all aspects in question about him in the last 25 years they will never get it. He was clear and concise about everything. I am happy that it pleases him when he hears fans say they have liked him all their lives. It gives those of us who have loved him most of our lives a warm feeling inside as well.
And Christine, thanks for the tip. You know, that sounds like an article you would expect to find here.
Love, A'isha

Miffed is basically the opposite of chuffed.

A'isha is right! If people can't understand that Yusuf has cleared the air, they are HOPELESS and NEVER will!

I enjoyed that interview article too. Yusuf certainly seems like he is at a balanced place. That's really good to see.
Yes, Christine, I found the way he refered to 'Cat' as if he was someone else amusing. Funny...I guess some of us have a tendency of doing that too (using the name to distinguish between then and now). Hey, next thing you know he'll be calling himself, "YI"... now that would be really funny.
But I guess "cat" really must seem like a lifetime ago for him. Gosh...he's accomplished so much since then!! What an amazing life, huh??

Yeah, sweet article. Awww... his contemporaries "sniggered" at him. Awww... And Jen, you made me laugh with your "YI" comment. Better yet, how about "WhyEye"? Just teasing....
